3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Cornfield (5239) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - FEB 11, 2012
Golden bodied with the slenderest of white fizzy heads, the aroma is sweet, bready, yeasty, and has a faint floral bouquet. The body is a bit thin, a bit watery. The flavor has a generic pale malt sweetness, a touch bready, with a vague, unidentifiable frutiness, and a very mild floral bitterness. It’s somewhat of a letdown after some of the beers that I’ve enjoyed from this brewer.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 Gription79 (601) - Bountiful, Utah, USA - JAN 19, 2012
12 ounce bottle
Aroma: sweet pilsner malts, slight yeast notes of banana, malty
Appearance: bright golden without head
Taste: grainy/sweet pilsner malt, banana, yeasty
Palate: starts sweet finishes dry, thin
Overall: This reminds me of a Pilsner that had some Belgian yeast tossed in half way through fermentation.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 SDalkoholic (1490) - Chula Vista, California, USA - JAN 9, 2012
Bottle from Pacific Liquor: Poured a golden blonde liquid into my Trappist glass while a fizzy formation of head started, but eventually dissipated and formed an O-ring. The aroma is very faint and it’s difficult for me to pick up on any scents other than a touch of spicy yeast and a scent of alcohol. The drink is sort of bland and doesn’t hit me like a true and authentic Belgian ale would. It seriously lacks the body of a Belgian ale and actually tastes as if it were watered down. There are some minor, and I’m talking to the points it’s not even significant, notes of spiced yeast but not enough for me to start pin pointing which spices in particular. In the end, this does have a smooth palate and is easily quaffable and more so considering it is a Belgian ale, but just lacks substance. Maybe because it’s all organic ingredients that it threw off the balance, haha.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 zizzybalubba (919) - Elizabeth City, North Carolina, USA - JAN 3, 2012
12 oz. bottle from SoHo Organic Market in Elizabeth City, NC. Pale yellow pour with a fizzy white head. Aroma of light Belgian candi sugar and just a hint of floral hops. The taste is rather non-distinct although it has more in common with a lager than what I think of as a Belgian ale. I suppose Orval makes me a bit jaded when it comes to other beers in this category. While there is nothing off-puting about this beer there is nothing very spectacular about it either. Just ok.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 reebtogi (1551) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 30, 2011
355ml bottle pours golden in color with a finger of white head which settles to some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is of cereal grains and some spices and yeast. Taste is light malty sweetness with some spices and yeast and a light floral hoppy bitterness. Light carbonation and medium body. A little below average for this style of beer, but was good for sipping around a campfire while on vacation in Washington state.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 derekbrown (104) - Greenville, North Carolina, USA - DEC 27, 2011
Smells of yeast and bananas. Very crisp mouthfeel, but abrupt finish. Seems to be common with Uinta beers.

3.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 muteprint (176) - Olympia, Washington, USA - DEC 15, 2011
12 oz bottle. Creamy belgian style ale. Pillowy head. Weak nose. Mild spice. Very drinkable and enjoyable ale.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 caralkaline87 (386) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 10, 2011
Pours a slightly clouded golden with a quick, thin white head. Nose is fairly weak and is a mix of light generic sugary fruit and a pinch of floral hops. Flavor is also disappointingly weak and uninteresting. Malt character is about as bland as you can get this side of a Budweiser. There’s a little hops and maybe even a glimmer of orange peel on the backside, but it takes effort to find that much taste. It’s not offensive but it’s incredibly boring.
