12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours copper with an off-white head. Aroma of light citrusy hops plus some pale and light caramel malts. Flavor the same. Average texture. Not the best IPA.

Bottle - gift from my friend Noel. Amber pour with a short, fizzy white head. Aroma is soft spicy hops, tea leaves, light grains and caramel. Taste is malt, caramel, toasted grains, spicy hops, tea leaves and grassy hops. Body is medium with a dense, bubbly carbonation. Finishes with spicy hops, light fruit notes, grassy hops, tea, caramel, and toasted grains.

A good-looking, relatively low-priced IPA. More English style (earthy; limited hop aroma and flavor) than American despite Calif. origin. Enough caramel malt to be clearly discernible.

Pours a pale golden with a nice long lasting big head and decent lacing on the glass.

The aroma is all sorts of unappetizing, just very malty, very sweet smelling with a light limey citrusy thing and some fruity hops. Just not good smelling.

The flavor delivers on what was promised in the aroma, a sweet, muddled, garbage IPA that fails to deliver much in the way of hop flavor (what that is there is grassy and citrusy) and bitterness. The beer is just way to focused on caramel malt sweetness and just doesn’t work as a pleasant IPA.

The score may be really low but this just stands to point out exactly what I don’t like in an IPA. Seriously Whole Foods in Clive, you come out here, build a new store, and this is what you have to offer? What a joke.

uninspiring. Pours a light golden with thin head. Light body, sad hop finish. Unlike the label this beer has 7, 2, King, 9 in hand. Fold.

Starts out decent with a bit of a fruity aroma. However, lacks the appropriate bitterness of a true IPA. Aftertaste is not distinctive and frankly, overall this is just a boring beer. I could drink more but would not seek this one out in the future.

Bottle. A rich amber hued brew with a light khaki head on top. A big grapefruit nose with lots of grass. The taste has some grapefruit and strong herbal notes. The herb quality almost drowns out the citrus form the hops. The body leaves a lot to be desired with a vague sweetness of caramel and nuts. Actually, this is an ok IPA, but boring.

Bottle in Santa Fe.

What a dog! Maize pour with a persistent head. Pear-juice aroma with a remarkable lack of hop character. Sweet flavor (that pear juice again) with rotten cantaloupe and tin-cup close. I can see why this one falls out in single figures for the style. Not sure I could choke down a bottle of this stuff.

Bottle: plain, simple, unimpressive. Food Pairing: Salsa and Chips + Poker.
