Four in Hand India Pale Ale is an easy drinking craft beer. It boasts a spicy hop character, blended with smooth malt flavor for a balanced finish. Pale, Crystal & Caramel Malts give this beer a rich flavor profile, while the combination of four different hops - CTZ, Chinook, Willamette & Golding – offer a distinctive, spicy aroma & long hoppy finish.

Pours copper with a thin off white head. Initially, this smells earthy, but as it warms up in the glass, some resiny elements and citrussy notes emerge. Tastes of citrus, resin, pine, earthy, some underlying bitterness, spicy on the finish. Well hopped and enjoyable.

16 oz. can from Whole Foods in Lake Grove, NY. Pours a crystal clear gold with a large white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma of malt, caramel and some subdued piney hops. The flavor is more restrained than the aroma with malt and caramel followed by some citrus pith hops bitterness that is lacking in flavor. Medium bodied.

Earthy hop aroma and taste, but muted. Clear amber color. Not outstanding but decent for $5.99 for a four pack of 16 ounce cans.

can. Deep golden with small head. Bland caramel malt body with bland hops. This is a very subpar IPA. At least the can looked nice.

Fuck, this is horrible. Dented can from Whole Foods Columbus Circle, NYC. Red gold with a massive bloom of heavy-lacing, sugared foam. Nose of chilled watermelon, happy hour Grecian cocktails, Southern Comfort, vomit and vomited Southern Comfort. Ditto flavour, with the tell tale cherry Tunes, elastic band and marzipan notes of cheap hop-free booze. Soggy malt and cooked sugar overload. Tastes like the bastard chimera child of an horrendous red Belgian and English super strength lager. Imagine my disappointment when I realised I paid $5.99 (FIVE DOLLARS NINETY NINE CENTS) for a single battered tin because they rang it through as a multipack. DRINKING EVERY LAST DROP IN PROTEST.

Pounder can. Pours clear orange with a medium sized white head. The aroma smells like sourdough bread. Semi sweet. The taste is awful.

From the archives: From my trip to US. As description says - an easy drinking craft beer - meaning it is watery, thin and less hoppy than most of the IPAs out there. Four pack was one of the most expensive ones, and the fancy design was amusing, but the taste was disappointing. Not worth it.

Poured from a tall can into a pint glass light amber cloudy golden with a huge thick beige pillow top head. Scent of caramel and very faint hop Taste is straight up caramel malty sweet & a just a tad of bitterness at the end telling me that hops was involved but definitely no bite of grassy citrus pine like most IPAs Carbonation is spot on with an excellent IPA feel to the tongue but why is this so sweet? Almost like the hops were an afterthought here. Bought this tall boy can 4 pack at Whole Foods for just $5.99. For the price not a horrible brew but I just keep wondering where the hops made in this brew went???

Sporty tallboy can. Huge bone-colored head on a hazy, honey gold brew. I liked the aroma - more of a UK style IPA than I was expecting and you can really pick up the Goldings. Caramel and tangy up front, followed by kumquat and moderate astringency. The flavor didn’t quite deliver on the promise of the aroma. The aftertaste has a ragged and astringent quality to it, with some buttery tones mixed in with the choppy hops. Slightly heavy mouthfeel to me. Whole Foods, Tallahassee.

1 pint can from Whole Foods. Gold pour with huge fluffy white-ish head. Aroma is sweet grapefruit, resin, spice, pine. Tastes are sweet caramel and floral bitter. Grassy, pine, metallic. Thin medicinal palate. Not completely horrible, but close... something a off-putting in the taste that I can’t put my finger on.
