Why Double Knot for a name? Well, itís essentially a double Hop Knot. Now does that mean we just went and doubled the alcohol content? No, but close; Hop Knot is around 6% and Double Knot is around 9.2%. So, did we double the hops? Well, yes! We did! Hop Knot uses around 3.5 lbs per barrel and Double Knot is around 7.5 lbs per barrel (Okay, a little more than double, donít sue us). Thatís really the main difference between the two; slightly higher alcohol content and twice the hops. But what a difference if youíre a true hop-head.

Nice pour at the AZ strong beer ferst. Aroma is sweet and hoppy. Good honey notes, citrus and floral hops and come biscuity notes too. Flavor is sweet and balanced by some floral and earthy hops. Well done. Very nice.

pours a orange with a sticky white head that leaves lacing all over the edge of my snifter. aroma is sticky citrusy hops and malt. flavor is hop forward with a decent malt backbone. finish is a little strange and sawdust hop like which threw me off at first but now i think iím diggin for more of this.

On tap at the Tempe brewery. First off, Hop Knot is a great IPA ... super flowery, light, sharp, and flavorful. Double Knot is up the same alley. Same hop bill, which is perfect (Simcoe in there?) ... great beer.

On tap at the Tempe location. Pours a bright copper color with a trim off-white head. Loaded with citrus and hops in the aroma. Tastes of further hops, flour, malt, and apricot on the mid palate. Finishes like cotton, but otherwise a really great DIPA.

Man first time vistied this place with out wife. Little stange sitting at the bar. Had a good citrus nose for aroma. Polished copper body with decent head. Flavorfull double ipa with good citrus flavor and malt I thought was little thin and the good cool and crisp thin g for the palte was good for me. Good brew.

Tasted at brewry 2/5. rich, almost tawny color in snifter. More golden in 10oz old-school beer glass. Pleasant nose (dont recall details). Taste is incredibley balanced between malt, hops and alcohol...nothing sticks out. Palate is smooth, slightly creamy. You just want to drink more and more which pretty much sums up the overall experience. EXCELLENT ALE.
