COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is our tribute to Bavaria, home of the world’s most beer-loving people – those are our kind of folk. Our Bavarian Ale’s malty wheat flavor comes from the use of 51% wheat malt and has a very low bitterness. It remains unfiltered to created the cloudy appearance characteristic of all Hefeweizens. Our version’s yeast brings forth a flavor and an aroma reminiscent of cloves and banana. Serving lemon (acidic fruit) with hefe styles are preferential and not suggested.

Draft (at PHX, 7AM local time). Banana, peach, clove, wheat malt and straw aroma. Cloudy golden yellow with moderate head. Sweet banana, peach, clove, and wheat malt flavor. Body on the light side. Nice beer, especially for breakfast.

Draft at brewpub. Typical unclear dark yellow appearance. The small white head mostly diminished quickly. Light body with a creamy feel and a light carb zip. A little tang. More banana than clove but all within comfortable levels. Nothing off. Really strong traditional hefe.

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2015 on draft at scottsdale location, lauras favorite. She drank a whole pint! Tons of banana flavors. This is your standard american version of a german hefeweizen. Not bad though

Sample tray at the Scottsdale location. Hazy straw color and a thin film of white foam. Banana, apricot, clove on both the nose and the tongue. Dry, but not drying. Almost no aftertaste. Fairly standard hefe. OK.

Tasted on 5/14/13 on draft at the brewpub. Pours cloudy light orange with a thick white head that slowly recedes to thick, sticky lace. The nose is classic Hefeweizen banana yeast, some clove, and a bit more lemon peel than some others. This follows through on the flavor with all of the wheaty malt, banana, and clove up front with a nice lemon pith finish. The body is medium, somewhat creamy, with average carbonation and a long wheaty banana and some lemon acidity finish.

On tap at the brewery in Tempe. Opaque yellow appearance. Aroma of bready malts, Belgian yeast, clove and banana. Mild sweetness and minimal bitterness. Solid.

Location: Draft at the Production Facility Tasting Room, 3/8/14

Aroma: The aroma is banana/clove, some wheat, and orange
Appearance: It pours a hazed gold-orange color with an average sized head
Flavor: The taste is mid-sweet, banana, clove, some wheat, and a little citrus
Palate: The body is medium, it has a decent drinkability, though it is a touch sticky
Overall Impression: I thought this was an okay hefeweizen. Not a special beer, but a solid example of the style.
