COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Hop Knot IPA is made only from American malt and lots of American hops, which produce a big, broad-shouldered, hoppy beer backed up by a character as warm as, well, Mom and apple pie… Hop Knot IPA get its peculiar name from the weaving of four different hops added at four separate times during the brewing process. Including our cavernous hop-back, which gets so stuffed with whole leaf hops that we feel genuine guilt for its excess. Hop Knot is an ale that is to be enjoyed with friends, spicy food or any time you need a good hop fix without the harsh bitterness. We hope you enjoy this pioneering beer made in the bold spirit of Americans everywhere.

12oz can courtesy of cbkschubert. Pours a nice cloudy golden color, decent finger or so of head. Smells delicious to me, very sweet and fruity with a bit of malt. Taste is... meh. Very sweet. A bit bitter, and kinda... watery...

Can from AJ’s Fine Foods. I don’t get it. All the delicious beers I had from AZ are scored really low and this mediocre IPA is scored way up in the 90s. The issue with Hop Knot is that it’s a very sweet, malty IPA with not a ton of hop character. The aroma has strong caramel and honey with a piney bite for some balance. A few sips confirms that this is really sweet for the style. Flavors of toffee, honeycomb and citrus.

A very well done IPA. Good hoppiness and a nice malt balance. On draft at Frog and Furkin.

Pours clear dark gold with small head that quickly dissipated leaving medium pacing. Pine and grapefruit hop aromas. Subtle roasted malt. Bitter throughout. Medium finish. Medium body with good carbonation. Well balanced ups. I like it a lot.

Although this beer is not well known throughout the world (or even the United States for that matter), I find myself using this beer as a standard for what I compare all other IPAs to. I am not kidding. This is my epitome of a good IPA. It is floral, smooth, delicious, only slightly bitter, and simply an embodiment of the flavor of fresh hops. Are there hoppier beers out there? Yes. Are there better single IPAs? No. There really aren?t. It is the only beer I?ve ever had that is excessively hoppy without being excessively bitter or "sticky". This IPA is a work of art.

Hazy orange pour with a small White head. Aroma is full of sweet hop aromas. Sweet orange, english winegums, tropical fruits, tangerine, lots of nice fruitiness, very unique. Taste strikes mé as being slightly sour, which is very unique, not as in infected but in the lines of astringent hoppy citrus notes. Surprisingly light bodied and very drinkable. Very nice IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From trade with nbutler11 . Pours hazy golden amber with off white head. Aroma is rather grassy hops, sweet peach, orange, some bready notes, weak pine, citrus, some malts behind and light tropical notes. Taste is clean crispy hops, bright citrus fruits, grass, orange, peach, grapefruit, weak pine leading to a bitter end. Very straight and good!
