3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: NOV 7, 2010 Sample from draft. Best beer (of 8) we tried that day. Golden color, scant head and lacing. Decent hoppy bitterness. Medium body. Drinkable. 3.0
Second tasting was at the Main Ingredient, and was slightly more tasty than I remember it, with a nicer aroma.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Another great beer from Four Peaks Brewery in Tempe, Arizona. This beer falls between a pale ale and an IPA. Smell was closer to an IPA (lots of hops) the flavor seemed to be more subtle. Not as hoppy as most IPAs, good flavor and after taste. Reminded me of a strong american pale ale. This was an incredibly easy beer to drink, very flavorful and smooth.
This beer started as a seasonal but was recently made a year round brew now available in kegs and bottles.

Bottle: The aroma consists of citrus, mango, grapefruit, and just a hint of caramel. It pours a transparent golden-orange with a small soapy white head. The flavor starts with sweet citrus, mango, and a touch of caramel. The finish has moderate grapefruit and pine. Medium bodies with mild carbonation.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Murphy’s Law - Floral hops aroma. Appealing orange color with a white head. Nice bitter flavor. Good beer, but a bit hyped. Perhaps it’s a lack of competition.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ Parlor. Pour is deep gold with a healthy white head that leaves light lacing. Aroma is heavy citrus with notes of grapefruit and tangerine back up by some pine, caramel and light floral accents. Flavor shows a little more depth with some soft peach poking it’s timid head out. It’s body is sticky with gobs of resin and caramel melting together. Overall it’s lightly sweet and finishes with moderate to heavy bitterness. Tasty stuff.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(On cask in the Tempe brewery) Smells of malt and hops and looks the usual pale ale color. Tastes sweet and quite hoppy. And since it was on cask you could actually taste it since it was lightly carbonated. In addition it was *approaching* the creaminess that you would expect out of a real ale. The only problem is that this is an IPA. An IPA is generally not a very well balanced beer. In general they are either too sweet or too hoppy, and occasionally both! This brew is just too sweet for my taste, but it is hands down better than the vast majority of american ales out there today.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUL 3, 2012 (on tap at Scottsdale location). Dark copper color with small head. Prominent citrus aroma. Big bitter taste with big, juicy citrusy hops and a moderate amount of sweetness. Lighter-bodied with an oily texture. Great bitter finish. A good American IPA, and a bit under-rated.
