COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Hop Knot IPA is made only from American malt and lots of American hops, which produce a big, broad-shouldered, hoppy beer backed up by a character as warm as, well, Mom and apple pie… Hop Knot IPA get its peculiar name from the weaving of four different hops added at four separate times during the brewing process. Including our cavernous hop-back, which gets so stuffed with whole leaf hops that we feel genuine guilt for its excess. Hop Knot is an ale that is to be enjoyed with friends, spicy food or any time you need a good hop fix without the harsh bitterness. We hope you enjoy this pioneering beer made in the bold spirit of Americans everywhere.

Pours a golden orange. Aromas of pineapple, slight mango, citrus, malt, slight pine and grapefruit. Initial flavor is sweet with a nice bitter backbone. Flavors of tropical fruit, grapefruit rind bitterness, a nice hop spiciness, typical malt background and a little touch of resin/pine. Mouthfeel is oily and a tad sticky. Overall a pretty solid IPA. Worth a try.

c/o Boltz Aroma - nose eludes to an oily West Coast hop. There isn’t much in the way of citrus. Appearance - body color is golden in color; the liquid is clear; the head sets up at about 2" and white, and slowly settles down; there is also some dappled lacing Taste - very nice combination of West Coast hops and citrus (grapefruit and some subdued lemon) Palate - body is medium; the texture is approaching oily; the carbonation is average; the finish moderate in length and a touch of bitter in the middle of the tongue. Pleasant finish.

Draft in a taster at the Wilson Taproom. Pours a clear orange with a small white head. Notes of caramel and toasted malts, citrusy and piney hops, some grass - very basic, straightforward, fresh IPA. Which works. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a fruity, fresh mouthfeel. Good IPA.

Rcvd in trade. Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a somewhat hazy but clear golden yellow almost orange colored body with a one finger white foamy head that dies within a minute, adequate foamy lacing clings to the sides of the glass. The smell was very piney and somewhat resinous aroma powers forward, yet once as it warms, a decent amount of malts make their presence. The taste was mainly bitter, but the malts that come through help to balance for the most part, no aftertaste, dry bitter finish. On the palate, she sat about a light to medium and was fairly sessionable. Carbonation was good for the style and for me as there is a good bitter harshness invading my tongue and mouth just like an AIPA should be. Overall, good job Four Peaks, as I would have this again.

12 oz. can supplied by agentzigzag. Many thanks! To oversized snifter, it pours a maroon carrot orange with which a sudsy whitish head 1 finger in length stood. Tastes and smells of hand sanitizer, Dove soap bars, cilantro, wheat grain, and soil. Tastes of everything described with the addition of limeade, pork salt, duct tape, and vanillin. What is this? Overly weird.

Location: Draft at Che-Ah-Chi, 3/2/14

Aroma: The nose is citrus hops (grapefruit, peach), some pine, and some pale malts
Appearance: It pours a golden color with a decent sized white head and average lace
Flavor: The taste is on-style, with a light sweetness and a medium hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has an average carbonation, and a smooth, dry finish
Overall Impression: This is a very solid IPA. Since Four Peeks is the biggest brewery in the area, it seems like this is the local, easy to find, craft IPA, and in that category you could do a heck of a lot worse.

Can to shaker - pours cloudy heavy yellow with a nice head and lacing. Has a nice grapefruit hop nose and taste, a medium body and dry finish. Good IPA and one that is local but could complete nationally.

Pours golden with a huge, frothy, white head. Nose is a bouquet of flowers; hop heaven. Taste is very well-balanced undercurrent of malt with robust hop bitterness. Medium body, lively carbonation. Quite good IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can, thanks Josh! Pours a clean light hay color with nice foamy white head. Aroma of fresh citrus. Light mouthfeel, with a clean non-bitter finish. Really enjoyable and delicious.
