COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Hop Knot IPA is made only from American malt and lots of American hops, which produce a big, broad-shouldered, hoppy beer backed up by a character as warm as, well, Mom and apple pieÖ Hop Knot IPA get its peculiar name from the weaving of four different hops added at four separate times during the brewing process. Including our cavernous hop-back, which gets so stuffed with whole leaf hops that we feel genuine guilt for its excess. Hop Knot is an ale that is to be enjoyed with friends, spicy food or any time you need a good hop fix without the harsh bitterness. We hope you enjoy this pioneering beer made in the bold spirit of Americans everywhere.

Draft sample. Poured clear amber color with an average to large frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate resin eathy hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bitter flavor with a medium to heavy bitter finish of moderate duration

Consumed in glass after being poured from can. Obtained from a friend who visited AZ. Pour is a very pleasant orange color with a noticeable haze. Minimal, quickly dissipating head with a desire to cling to the glass. Aroma is definitely hops with emphasis on resiny notes. Slight sweetness trying to come through as a result of malty backbone. Strong hop bitterness hits at the back end of the taste. Citrus peel. Maybe a slight tropical fruit element but overwhelming resembles standard West Coast IPAs. Itís actually a pretty tasty, refreshing beer. First one Iíve tried from this brewery (first one from AZ for that matter) and I would knot (clever right? ) hesitate to try again.

Can with commonmac. Hazy orange with bubbly white head. Orange citrus and sweet alcohol nose. Pine and resin, alcohol there with hoppiness . Double ipa elements but not perfectly balanced and clean. Pretty good for my first Arizona beer, but nothing to get tied up in knots over.

Draft - clear golden body with a beige head. Big grass hop nose. A touch of pine hops as well. Big hop flavor! Could use a touch more malt to balance. Good!

On tap in Sedona. Pours clear yellow/orange with a small white head. Nose is citrus/grapefruit, malt. Flavor follows with pine and bitter hops. Medium body, good carbonation, nice balance. A nice surprise.

bblack99 (527) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - JAN 4, 2009
Draught at the brewery in Tempe. Poured a clear copper with almost no head. Kind of generic as IPAs go, hoppy as expected, with its only distinguishing characteristic being a great brightness. Relatively low ABV but what little alcohol exists is well-hidden.

Draft at dinner. Absolutely solid in all respects. Bright orange, citrus nose, and citrus hop with a good malt backbone. Finishes clean and dry. Very well made.

Draft. No notes, going from memory. Aroma is lightly floral, lightly pine, lightly citrus. Some spice to it with a good overall profile. Moderately bitter. Iíve had this one on a couple of occasions and I never seem to take notes. Great flavor, an easy IPA. Would like to take notes next time Iím there.

Very unusual beer. Nice golden hue, great long-lasting head. The aroma is very tangerine citrus, but the taste is almost more like a carbonated juice! Very surprising.
