COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Hop Knot IPA is made only from American malt and lots of American hops, which produce a big, broad-shouldered, hoppy beer backed up by a character as warm as, well, Mom and apple pie… Hop Knot IPA get its peculiar name from the weaving of four different hops added at four separate times during the brewing process. Including our cavernous hop-back, which gets so stuffed with whole leaf hops that we feel genuine guilt for its excess. Hop Knot is an ale that is to be enjoyed with friends, spicy food or any time you need a good hop fix without the harsh bitterness. We hope you enjoy this pioneering beer made in the bold spirit of Americans everywhere.

12/1/05 Draft. golden with small white head. Piney citrusy aroma. fairly well balanced malt backbone and piney hop bitterness. Easy to drink. Very good with food. By far there best beer.

Serving: from tap at Four Peaks Brewing Company. Aroma: moderate pine hop aroma. Appearance: average-sized, frothy, off-white, initial head with fair lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Clear, dark-yellow body. Taste: moderately bitter initial flavor and moderately sour, citrus finish with average duration. Palate: medium body with dry texture and soft carbonation. Overall: excellent. Great aroma, and well balanced taste--not overly bitter.

Pours a golden color with medium white head. Aromas of mild pine and some mild resin. Flavors of some mild bitter hops that are well balanced with the malt. This is one of my favorite local IPAs and one I find myself going to when there are not very many option.

Orange nose. This one goes both ways from the start, moving from a nice malt directly to both a light bitterness and orange overtones. I’d say its bipolar, but going both ways makes it sound more interesting.

Some retention and great lacing. A rather weak aroma. Smells of citrus hops and a slight sent of sweet malt. Tastes of stale hops and malt. Not the most enjoyable IPA. Hopefully it's just a bad batch. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Great nose of mostly pine, some malt as well. Huge flavors of piney, bitter hops. Like my friend said- it tastes like the forest. Good maltiness to balance the hops. One of the best beers from AZ, imo.

On Draft, Tempe Four Peaks. Pours with a medium sized fluffy white head, that left impressive lacings down the sides of the glass. A very pale clear gold when held to the light. Very fine bubbles continuously rose to the top. Wonderful fresh/clean strong hop aroma, Very floral and pollen/perfume like, with notes of light fresh citrus (lemons). Great mouth feel creamy and a tad sticky, but not that heavy at all. Very refreshing and hoppy brew. .

Another great beer from Four Peaks Brewery in Tempe, Arizona. This beer falls between a pale ale and an IPA. Smell was closer to an IPA (lots of hops) the flavor seemed to be more subtle. Not as hoppy as most IPAs, good flavor and after taste. Reminded me of a strong american pale ale. This was an incredibly easy beer to drink, very flavorful and smooth. This beer started as a seasonal but was recently made a year round brew now available in kegs and bottles.
