Pours a warm orange color from the tap at the brewery with a large tan head that leaves plenty of lacing. Great aroma. Smells of sweet red apples and orange rind. A bit sour for a barley wine, but balanced with caramel.

On draft at 1702, golden orange pour, white head. Sweet and caramel malts and a nice alcohol bite. A sweet and tasty Barleywine. Love it!

Bottle. Golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is alcohol, malt, hop. Flavour is alcohol, malt, hop, dried fruits, caramel. Full body. Nice beer.

[ Vintage 2008 ]. Clear medium orange colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, barley wine alike aroma, moderate hoppy, warm orange - citrus, wood notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, fruity, pale riped fruits. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20121110]

Clear amber with tiny head. Aroma is malt, caramel, toasted and fruit. Flavour is malt, caramel, toasted, medium sweet, oak, hop, pine, little bitter with notes of alcohol.

Bottle. It’s an almost clear one, golden in color and with a small, dense, off-white head. The aroma suggests it has been stored for some time, with the hops quite subdued. Fluor, pine cones and a touch of alcohol in the aroma. Quite a lot of malty sweetness too. It’s full-bodied and lightly warming on the palate, with roasted hints, but mostly pine cones, malty sweetness, caramel and some fluor. Not to forget bitterness. A really pleasant one, certainly one I could repeat. 121110

Sample from a 2008 batch at GABF 10/13/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. The beer pours a dark golden color with a medium foamy white head and a sticky ring of lacing. Aroma of hops, caramel malt and pine. Full-bodied with flavors of resiny hops, sweet malt and grain. The finish is hoppy with a bit of dark fruit in the aftertaste. Good overall.

Hazy golden color, yellow head. Sweet, malty, fruity scent. Sweet, bitter, raisin taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium high bitterness. Chili aftertaste.
