This is an ale made in the tradition of the great strong ales of Scotland. Amber colored, malty sweet with underlying note of smokiness.

12oz bottle. Ruddy copper pour, big bubbly head fades to a nice collar, no lacing. I get mostly citrus and cereals in the aroma, very very good. Taste is good as well, sourish in the beginning, I get the smokiness in the end. Palate is medium bodied, erring towards light. I wouldn’t drink it all night. Definitely more carbonated than other scottish ales I’ve had.

Brown Amber. Light white head. Strawberry vanilla cherry scents. Medium sweet sour and bitterness. Honey, vinegar, cherry flavors. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft sample at the source from notes. Pours a clear amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have caramel, toasted malts, a mild smoked character, some light fruit, mouthfeel was a bit thin, just ok.

I do not wax on poetically about beer but I do know the quality of a beer once tasted. This review is not about my tastes but reinforces the numbers, which are arbitrary.

Draft at Alice Cooperstown while visiting: pours a dark Amber color. Malty taste: easy drinking not as boozy as you'd expect

Copper pour from can. Taste is heavy malt, grain, light plum and charred wood. Would have been better if it had a tad bit more booze.

Bottle - unable to pour out of the bottle, but definite good malty aroma and flavor, pretty smooth finish, pretty typical "Scottish style" but good ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is a good but basic Scotch Ale. Smooth and drinkable, but not remarkable. Still, thumbs up.

Amber pour with sweet malt notes and s hint of smoke underneath... This might indeed lift my kilt!

Pours murky amber with a small white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is a bit off being a bit sour... But it’s mostly made up of rich caramel malt, light peat, hint of smoke sweetness. Taste is similar with a rich malt base, Carmel, but does contain a slightly off burnt Carmel which likely masks the overtones of peat and campfire. Smooth and easy to drink though.
