This is an ale made in the tradition of the great strong ales of Scotland. Amber colored, malty sweet with underlying note of smokiness.

Deep amber color, clear. Sweet and smoky flavor. Enjoyed this from a can while in Scottsdale within sight of the four peaks for which the brewery is named. F Avey---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Copper pour from can. Taste is heavy malt, grain, light plum and charred wood. Would have been better if it had a tad bit more booze.

Bottle - unable to pour out of the bottle, but definite good malty aroma and flavor, pretty smooth finish, pretty typical "Scottish style" but good ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is a good but basic Scotch Ale. Smooth and drinkable, but not remarkable. Still, thumbs up.

Pours murky amber with a small white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is a bit off being a bit sour... But it’s mostly made up of rich caramel malt, light peat, hint of smoke sweetness. Taste is similar with a rich malt base, Carmel, but does contain a slightly off burnt Carmel which likely masks the overtones of peat and campfire. Smooth and easy to drink though.

I didn't take any extra notes when I tried this beer for the first time but I'm gonna try it again and update my comments. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draught at Red Devil (Lakeside), December 2013.
Clear dark amber with strong auburn tints and a beige head that shows moderate retention.
Sweet and fruity notes of candied plum, raspberry, dry toffee and raisins abound in the nose. No alcohol or flaw, with ample grassy hop notes helping dry out and balance the maltiness.
Fruity and with light sourdough-like malt flavors, moderately sweet toffee and raisins all adding quite a bit of complexity and flavor for only 6%. Don’t get a ton of smokiness, though there is some dry phenolic character. The fruitiness is quite dry and quite fragrant in the nose and flavorful in the mouth. Probably my favorite part. Not too tangy or toasted, as often many beers of this style can be.

Bottle at a friends house during a bottle share. Nothing extraordinary. Malty on the nose and in the flavor. better than most that I had toward the end of the night.
