2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the Tucson airport. Dark amber with a hint of red. Smells a little off, tastes malty. Iím not a big fan of Scottish Ales, but this is pretty good.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught. Pours a somewhat hazy brown color with a moderate off-white head. Nose was definitely malt forward, and has some caramel and hints of toffee for me. Taste was slightly sweet, but had a slight crispness to it that wasnít bad. Largely forgettable, though.

1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Sample tray at the Scottsdale location. Deep brownish amber color. A ring of thin beige foam lingers. Smells like new leather and burnt sugar. Tastes like a stronger version of Big Rock Traditional. Thin, bitter dry aftertaste. Skip it.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark body - half finger off-white head. Aroma is fully of sweet malt, mild biterness, caramel, generally roasty. Simple while nothing special. Flavor is incredibly sweet, with a mild roasted nut flavor to balance things slightly...little hop bitterness. Palate is relatively full bodied for the style with light carbonation - easy drinking. Decent rendition of the style, though I would have liked more to offset the malty sweetness.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasted on 5/14/13 on draft at the brewpub. Pours clear amber with an average beige head that leaves average lace. The nose is malty caramel and toffee with dark bread and a bit of toast. The flavor is more toasted and bitter with the malty caramel and dark bread taking a back seat. The body is just over medium with average carbonation and a long caramel and toasted, lightly bitter finish.
