3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the 8th street brewpub. Pure black, with tan head. Chocolate and spice on the nose. Some bitter cocoa on the palate with a touch of spices.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft - Roast malts, chocolate and spice. Clearish mahogany with a rich brown head. Roast malts, molasses, lots of spice. Slight peppery heat in the finish, but the sweet spices really overwhelm. A richer chocolate base would have helped.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at 1702. Deep black with surpisingly white head. Roasted malt and sweet aromas. Flavor is roasted malt with just a hint of cinnamon from the mexican chocolate. I seem to have just a nice spice note on the end too. Very nice.

Nice. Quite thick; smooth mouthfeel. Hint of chocolate, and wonderfully spiced. Recommended!

On tap at brewery. Disappointed with this one. Thin and an off flavor. Needs more chocolate and complexity

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Growler pours with a dark amber body that supports a nice tan head. The modest aroma offers up some chocolate, a faint caramel malt note, malt sweetened soft roasted malts, a dab of chili pepper meat and then ending with a Nestles Quick chocolate sensation. The taste begins sweet where malty to caramel malt sweetness smooths out the light dark roasted malt notes. It then heads into a fruity almost date like note mixed with chili pepper meat and a moment or two of chili pepper heat. The chocolate picks up into the finish helping to end the experience of this mild, smooth and kind of thin brew.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear brown pour in a pint glass, wish it was a snifter. Mole? No I don’t think so. More of a brown ale mixed with a stout. I get a bit if spice but some plastic and vegetal notes. Zero chance this is a 4.5-4.6 beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
At the Brewery, Dark brown pour with an off-white head. Aroma is faint pepper and chocolate. Was a little disappointed as the beer was a little thin and like the spice. It is just ok.

Holy Mole. Even though the beer was a tad on the thin side I thought the flavors were wonderful. Cocoa and pepper spices, a great beer for the winter. Color was very black. Nice head retention. Served in a snifter which I had wished was a regular pint glass.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
WOW! Dark brown, almost black pour with small beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, nutmeg, cinnamon and caramel. Taste of sweetened chocolate, roasted malts, nutmeg, cinnamon, caramel, fruity undertones, very faint hint of bourbon. Absolutely delicious and a dry spicy chili finish, not to much, just enough to beg for another sip. Full bodied, lower carbonation, creamy mouthfeel. Excellent beer!
