3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Enjoyed a few of these on draft outside at Casey Moore’s this week with friends drinking the same; it’s the season. As porters go this is decent; pumpkin flavor and aroma are understated. I’d have this again, though I don’t think they have bottles, so you have to track it down. I recently had the pumpkin porter from Grand Canyon (another local Arizona brewery) and liked it a lot more; Shipyard’s Smashed Pumpkin ale (not a porter) is also quite good. (10/25/12)

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a translucent brownish black from the can with fluffy off-white head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma of pumpkin pie spice over soy and slight roast. Taste is more toward the spice, just a hint of English yeast and roast. Thin and watery, bit not bat otherwise.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours an opaque black with a frothy, creamy light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, pumpkin, nutmeg and cinnamon all in a nice big floral delicate balance. Taste semi sweet chocolate, light roasted, light pumpkin, some nutmeg and some cloves... Spices and pumpkin are definitely subtle and low but however so are the malts in the base... Needs more roast quality and some touch of cocoa and bitterness.

On tap at Pita Jungle in Gilbert, AZ. Brown appearance with a fully diminishing tan head. Aroma of pumpkin, spices, cinnamon, nutmeg, dark malts, allspice and maybe ginger. Similar flavor, pretty heavily spiced with a medium body. OK.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ The State Bar. Dark brown pour with a khaki head. Aroma is decently roasty with some chocolate, coffee, and ash. A fairly restrained spice component to this, which is nice. Some dark fruit esters in it as well, mostly plum. Flavor has a decent sweetness of molasses and dark fruits. Some bitter roasted malt and dark chocolate. Hints of coffee and some cinnamon spiciness. Not bad.

Nice. Cannot complain. Good pumpkin spice notes; solid porter backbone. A bit of a kick, too!

Pours deep black with light cocoa head. Nice aroma of spice and roast. Flavor is roasted malt and light cinnamon and clove. Not over the top on spicing but definitely shows up. Nice beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft. Light brown with amber hues. Creamy lasting beige head. Pleasant pumpkin and roast aroma. Modestly spiced. Not over done. Nice roasted pumpkin kind of character. None of that childish candy/dessert beer quality. Well made. Would have again.

Bottle. The look is dark, brown in color, thin beige colored head. The smell is pumpkin, pie, spice, chocolate, sweet, and good. The taste is mostly the same a little too much sweetness.

I do not like pumpkin pie, I do not like pumpkin beer. That being said, I have to try this and rate objectively on it’s merits as a porter, and a seasonal.
12 oz can. Dark brown with a creamy tan head and decent lacing.
Aroma is cooked pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, roasted malt.
flavor doesn’t have much pumpkin, which in my opinion is good, but since it is a pumpkin beer, not so much. It is a little sweet and light in body, with a short finish, with the exception of the spice, which lingered. I think this could be a beer a pumpkin hater could drink.
