A true English Indian Pale Ale. Our Raj IPA is created with a medium body and finishes dry and bitter – possibly even more so than your Uncle Sal after you broke his window when you were eleven. Our English IPA has an intense hop flavor and high hop bitterness. The lofty hop level was originally required so the ale would stay preserved and survive the voyage around Africa during the English occupation of India in the 18th century.

Tasted on 5/14/13 on draft at the brewpub. Pours clear burnt orange with an average off-white head that leaves average lace. The nose is floral hops with some citrus and a nice bread malt backbone, nothing out of the ordinary. The flavor is a touch of bready sweetness up front, moving to all of the bitter citrus peel and primarily floral hops. The body is medium with average carbonation and a long floral and nicely bitter hops finish.

On tap at brewery in Tempe. Nice example of English IPA....earthy hops almost pine root like. Subtle in aroma but nice. Flavor of crisp bitterness with a fruity ester sense. Good with their food.

A malty aroma, pours a copper color with virtually no head. Taste of malt and sugar with a hint of hops. Creamy feel with a bitter sweet finish.

Location: Draft at the Production Facility Tasting Room, 3/8/14

Aroma: The nose is decently hoppy, with plenty of citrus, some pine/resin, and a bit of caramel
Appearance: Pours a clear golden-amber color with an off-white head and some average lace
Flavor: The taste is nicely balanced, with some sweetness, and a solid amount of hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a nice mouthfeel, and a good, clean finish to it
Overall Impression: I actually thought this was the best IPA that I tried at Four Peaks. Surprisingly, I enjoyed it more than the Hop Knot IPA. This is some tasty stuff.

I disagree with the deScription but I love this IPA. Not especially bitter. What I love here is the strong citrus aroma and taste and the slight sweetness in flavor. Good stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at a restaurant in Tempe, can’t remember the name of it. Pours a clear golden-amber with a finger of off-white head. Notes of lemon and grapefruit citrus, pine, leaves, caramel malts. Straightforward. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a malty mouthfeel. Good IPA.

14 karat pour with a white pillowy head that leaves remnants inside the glass. Bright citrus punch with tart grapefruit pith, lemon zest, and orange rind. Nice piney complexity with a touch of honey. Another well crafted beer from Four Peaks!

A golden ipa with a thin creamy off white head. In aroma, sweet biscuit malt with floral hops, light chalky notes, nice. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with grassy floral hops, light grapefruit, OK. On tap at Angel’s Trumpet.
