COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A true English Indian Pale Ale. Our Raj IPA is created with a medium body and finishes dry and bitter – possibly even more so than your Uncle Sal after you broke his window when you were eleven. Our English IPA has an intense hop flavor and high hop bitterness. The lofty hop level was originally required so the ale would stay preserved and survive the voyage around Africa during the English occupation of India in the 18th century.

Beerlando (3342) - Orlando, Florida, USA - SEP 13, 2008
Hand bottle, courtesy SoLan, via Flaco Alto. Pours a clear golden-amber color with a small, foamy, eggshell colored head. Traces of wispy, sticky lace mark the glass. The aroma shows notes of grapefruit and pine, but with a substantial toffee and biscuit malt base to provide balance. Flavors were similarly straightforward, lightly sweet toffee and caramel malts cut with bitter pine and citrus hops. Very simple. Medium bodied and low to moderate carbonation. Overall, a fairly underwhelming brew. Decent.

Poured a clear, dark golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, floral hops, tropical fruits, toast, and a bit of citrus. Taste of dry, toasted dough, citrus fruits, caramel malts, pine, and a sweeter, grapefruit finish.

hopdog (9189) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 10, 2008
Hand bottle thanks to FlacoAlto. Poured a deeper golden color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, pine, and floral. Tastes of citrus, pine, and light caramel in the back groudn.

Pours a rich amber from the tap at Four Peaks with a tim off-white head. Mild hops in the nose and on the palate, which cause me to question this beer’s classification as an IPA, but the addition of sweet malts to this brew make it balanced and highly drinkable.

On tap at Scottsdale location. Pours a medium amber with a lasting cream head and spotty lacing. Nose is malt and floral hops. Taste is sweet ripe citrus for the most part with a slight bitter pine finish. Medium mouth feel. Decent IPA.

Golden amber...lingering head. Moderate hop aroma. Flavor is somewhat rich, malty, white bread, some caramel, some hops but not significant. On tap at brewery.

A solid IPA. Pours a little more amber than most IPAs with respectable head. Hoppy all the way through, from the aroma to the finish. Crisp with hints of flowers and spice. In typical 4 Peaks fashion, strong abv but well hidden. Hightly recommended if your in the Valley of the Sun.

Growler, via BA tayner. Pours a clear light copper, billowy fizzy one finger off-white head. Lots of thick lacing. Low visible carbonation. The nose is fresh green hops with a grapefruity citrusy livelyness. Some brittle toffee maltiness. Nice hoppy flavor without too much bitterness making it very drinkable. Some iced tea crystal malt on the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with just a touch of resiny stickiness. Moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall, a nice easy drinking IPA. Nothing stand-out, but also no notable flaws. My pick of the 5 Four Peaks beers I’ve had.

Doon (109) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - NOV 18, 2007
On tap in Scottsdale location. Strongest beer there, and always my fav! although KIltlifter is a close second...Not sure why I got a hangover the next day after 3 beers....but oh well....can’t get too descriptive on the color(it was dark) aroma was hoppy, and the taste was pretty good. Not the greatest IPA, but a VERY good attempt for a local brewery that distributes locally (NOT this particular beer however)

tomhenderson (166) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - NOV 18, 2007
On tap at Scottsdale location 11-12-07. Typical IPA color - tarnished copper. Very little head or lacing. Nose is malty with a pleasant biscuit note, but very little hop aroma. Wish the solid malt/biscuit aroma followed through in the flavor, but it didn’t. This is a very average IPA with little hops showing through; their Hop Knot is a much better choice for a hop head, imo.
