COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a Bavarian ale which uses 51% wheat malt in the recipe. Very low bitterness. It is unfiltered so the characteristic cloudiness is achieved. The haze comes from suspended yeast. Hefe-Weizen literally means "yeast-wheat." The aroma is reminiscent of cloves and banana and is put out by the yeast. While some of this aroma carries over to the flavor, the dominant flavor is the malty wheat.

Enjoyed on tap in Scottsdale (brewed in Tempe). Unfiltered grapefruit appearance, creamy mouthfeel. Very lacey. The smell is bannana and cloves. The taste: the cloves are right there. Appropriate carbonation. A keeper. Be-aye numero 4200

Cloudy gold pour, white head. Coriander, cloves, wheat, banana and yeast on the nose. Flavor is up front coriander and wheat with some bubblegum and banana. Easy drinking.

Muddy blond color. The aroma is a bit smelly, yeast. Rounder body than the average weisse, some wheat flavor, residual sweetness. Ordinary.

On draft at the Tempe brewery A- Cloudy opaque yellow hue, minimal head and lacing S- Big banana presence, cloves, citrus, very sweet! T- Initial burst of sweet bananas, some subtler bread malts, underlying wheat, finishes sweet and dry M- Light-bodied, watery texture, moderate carbonation D- Smooth and nicely balanced Hefe, nothing too complex or bold, just a solid performer for this style

Tap @ Talking Stick Golf Course of all places. Pours a lovely cloudy gold with a frothy, thick white head. Nice lacing. Soft, perfume aroma of wheat, clove, and great banana from the yeast. Crisp wheaty taste up front which rapidly shifts to the Bavarian yeasty sweetness. Solid banana and clove in this one with a nice backdrop of lemon peel. A bit watery in the mouthfeel, but overall, a nice hefe.

On tap at Oreganos in Phx (camelback and 10th st). Cloudy gold. The nose had banana, clove, citrus, and yeast. Flavor was the same as the nose, with less banana, and a little more citrus and wheat. All around a great hefe. Worth trying if you are in the Phx area.

Tap at the brewpub in Tempe. Hazy golden color with a fine white head. Aromas of banana citrus and clove. Flavor same. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Good Hefe.

Pours like cloudy pineapple juice with a frothy white head from the tap at Four Peaks. Brimming with the aroma and flavor of bananas, citrus, and pineapple. Sickeningly sweet in my opinion and unfit for consumption.

Cloudy white gold color, small head. Grain, lemon, burnt banana aroma. Light and easy flavor, significant banana, lemon/orange spritz, wheat...easy and tasty. On tap at Tempe brewery.
