Clear dark black brown colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, chocolate, bourbon and laber laver, moderate roasted. Flavour is light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, laber laver, bourbon, chocolate, light vanilla. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20130111]

Draft at Fate. Pours dark brown with a khaki head. Aroma of fudge, cocoa, bourbon. Taste is sweet with nice barrelling. Flavorful, but not overpowering. Sticky texture. Very drinkable and quite good.

2011 vintage at Strong Beer Fest, 2013. Excellent beer! One of the brews that I really wanted to try & it did not disappoint! Poured black w/ minimal head. Nice nose of wood, bourbon, caramel, vanilla, chocolate. Complex tastes of oak, tobacco, dark bitter chocolate, roast malts, and vanilla. Very good!

Sampled at Arizona Strong Beer Fest, 2013. Not overly roasted, but very nice sweetness. Bourbon flavor from barrels. Very good!

Cloudy dark body with a small light brown head. Aroma is milk chocolate, oak, vanilla, bourbon, caramel. Flavor is bourbon, chocolate, alcohol, vanilla, caramel.

Very dark brown with tiny head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, bourbon and vanilla. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, bourbon, vanilla, sweet and oak.

Almost black with a tiny beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, wood, notes of vanilla and bourbon. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and roasted rather bitter finish with notes of alcohol. Oily. 110113

Bottle @ Berliner Weisse Takeover, Ulfborg 2013. Pours black with a bubbly head. Oak, vanilla, coconut roast. Bourbon. Smooth and soft. Tasty.

Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, bourbon, chocolate, fruits, wood and hops. Nice and smooth.

From notes. On draft into a snifter at Flanny’s during an awesome Four Peaks tap takeover. Pours a very dark brown with the tiniest of heads that fades into a thin ring. Big bourbon and biscuit nose. Sweet bourbon taste to start with a hint of burnt toast and a bit of vinegar that gives it a slightly sour finish. Incredibly smooth, almost creamy palate. It has less bourbon taste than the previous time I tried this beer, but this is still a top-notch brew that is overwhelmingly popular in Arizona and deserves to be properly recognized on a larger level.
