COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
2009 is a Strong Scotch Ale which will be clocking in at a pretty substantial 8.7% ABV. This baby will have a mild sweetness to it with very low bitterness and is dangerously drinkable!

Tap @ Tempee. Had a stale grain and somewhat metalic aroma along with some dry rye bread. Amber body with dirty white head. Flavor was more like over produced regular line beers at some joints. Scotch ale sweet malt and dry rye but rather bland.

Tap at AZSBF.On tap @ AZSBF. Pour is deep red-brown with an off-white head. Aroma shows notes of rye bread, nuts, and brown sugar. Flavor shows the same with additional notes of toffee and cherry syrup.

on tap at the scottsdale pub 12/13/2009. clear pour... dark reddish brown with an off white cap. lots of buttery caramel in the aroma... 8.7% shows in floral alcohol notes...toasted nuts, slight smoke, spice and brown sugar round it out. the palate is very malty and buttery yet dry, spicy and hoppy as well. the flavor shares these same aroma characteristics... along with some earthiness, some fruity tartness (mostly shows when it is warm) and a very mildly bittered spicy finish. there is a nice balance... too bad there is not much going on. medium bodied. alcohol really dries it out... spice makes it thinner too. 6/3/6/3/13/3.1

On tap at the Tempe location. Pours amber with a trim beige head that quickly recedes into a small ring. Smells of caramel and malt. Tastes predominantly of brown sugar, cherry cough syrup/laffy taffy, further malt, gelatin, and distant citric hops. Seems void of any pete, smoke, barley, or hotness, which seems odd for the style.
