muzzlehatch (4425), Burlington, Vermont, USA Dec 31, 2005 Draught pint at Clark’s Ale House, Syracuse NY. Deep black with a small lasting creamy tan head....nice big roasty nose with more than a hint of raisin and prune...awesome caramel-sweet toffee-dark roasty balance on the tongue, creamy yet edgy, increasingly bitter mouthfeel. Homebrewerguy (247), Oil City, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 18, 2005 I asked the brewer about this beer. He said it was an experiment inasmuch as they tried to combine the characteristics of a stout and a porter. Three different types of hops were used which really made for a hop dominant beer. The Bullian hops were quite opressive and threw the beer out of balance. Funny how it got better as you drank it though.
