A hard-rocking sly session ale (easy drinking) that smacks the lips with tasty bitter hops and citrusy grapefruit shots to the nose. It finishes crisp and dry, sustaining like a windmill power chord. All of a sudden it hits you...this is the one.

I had tried a small sample at the brewery that afternoon, so was happy to get a shaker pint on draft at Bodega in Columbus, Ohio. The pour is a clear golden amber with not much of an off white head. The aroma is citrus fruit, grass, and a nice undertone of grass and mineral. The taste is a fresh cracker malt, along with a light bitter sweetness balanced with grass and grapefruit citrus hop. There is a hint of pine present as well, which adds depth to the flavor. The palate is medium bodied, with crisp carbonation and the mineral dry clean finish. Definitely my kind of beer, very tasty.

12oz can. Hazy golden-orange body. Creamy off-white head. Pretty standard APA. Medium bodied, smooth malt backbone, some resinous murky NW hops. The lack of filtration takes away from any crispness. Not really hyped that I bought a sixpack of this...wouldn’t do it again.

Can. Pours a clear coppery orange with a thin head. Aromas are malty (almost a honey and dough mix) with a bit of light fruit and flavor is driven by grain dust and a bit of citrus and fruit (but in an awkward kind of way that makes me a bit sad.) It’s an OK beer, but it is pretty standard APA stuff.

Clear copper pour with a clear white head and sticky lacing .... Aroma of grapefruit and sugary crystal malts ... Sweet sugary malts and a bitter citrusy grapefruity hop ... Had a malty and sugary backbone .... Decent session brew not much more

12 ounce can, I believe this was just canned last week so it’s pretty fresh. Served in a Sam Adams perfect pint glass, the beer pours a copper color with about a half inch off-white head that sticks around a while. There’s also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells mostly like citrusy hops (grapefruit, citrus peel), along with some bready and caramel malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there’s also a bit of pine hops noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit slick, smooth, and easy to drink. I think it’s a good pale ale, I’d buy it again. $8.99 a 6-pack.

More malt for my normal liking but still a great ale. Balanced. Great pour.

Draft at the village idiot, columbus. Copper pour, tastes like a dirty penny. Caramel malts, light ashtray. Not so good IMO

On tap during Ohio Brew Week 2013, taster from The Union. Clear orange red color. Little white head. Medium body. Lightly soft, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. More dry in the finish. Some caramel, lightly toasty, lightly spicy malt profile. Some piney, lightly citrusy hop. Moderate bitter taste, light sweet. Alright pale ale. A little too assertive. Not the smoothest pale, but I don’t mind the bite.

Sample at the Pint Room on 4/27/13. Pours a clear amber color with a medium off-white head. Aroma of malt, pine, some citrus and grass. Grassy hop flavor with some maltiness and pine before a bitter hop finish.

Sampled at the ’12 Columbus Mircrobrew Festival. Golden color with a thin off white head. Light orange citrus nose. Flavors of orange peel, apricot and fresh baked bread. Long hop burn in on the tongue. something tart ih the finish. I’d like to try more from this brewery.
