COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A hard-rocking sly session ale (easy drinking) that smacks the lips with tasty bitter hops and citrusy grapefruit shots to the nose. It finishes crisp and dry, sustaining like a windmill power chord. All of a sudden it hits you...this is the one.

I had tried a small sample at the brewery that afternoon, so was happy to get a shaker pint on draft at Bodega in Columbus, Ohio. The pour is a clear golden amber with not much of an off white head. The aroma is citrus fruit, grass, and a nice undertone of grass and mineral. The taste is a fresh cracker malt, along with a light bitter sweetness balanced with grass and grapefruit citrus hop. There is a hint of pine present as well, which adds depth to the flavor. The palate is medium bodied, with crisp carbonation and the mineral dry clean finish. Definitely my kind of beer, very tasty.

4 String Pale ale on draft at Miller's Ale House Restaurant in Columbus, oh Appearance - nice light amber color. Very clear and see through. Light, quickly dissipating head. Nose - not much to speak of. Flavor - Good, light hops very refreshing 'lite' hop flavor like you'd expect for a pale ale. No particular hop flavor stood out. Notes - Good overall drinker. Enjoyable on a nice hot summer day, and I'll bet a cool fall day as well. I'd call it a good 'table' beer. Great with a meal, but nothing special for a 'tasting'.

Pours a clear light gold with a white head. Medium spruce hops with sugary malt. Medium to heavy bitter that doesnít stick around. Medium body with a sticky texture.

12 ounce can. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. A sweet fruity resin nose. The flavor is lemons, oranges, tea, resin, mild bitterness, smooth, some caramel. Good.

On tap at Millerís Ale House. Dark gold color. Thin white head with decent lacing. Aromas of sweet malt and floral hops. Upfront explosion of fresh hops, herbal tones, slight bitter citrus. Whatís really noticeable is the long, lingering hop bite. Itís almost too much. Seems like it needs a bit more malt sweetness to balance it out. Fairly dry finish. Medium to light mouthfeel. It has the body of a pale ale, but this drinks like an IPA pale ale. Definitely not bad. Iíd like to explore this one again.

12oz can. Hazy golden-orange body. Creamy off-white head. Pretty standard APA. Medium bodied, smooth malt backbone, some resinous murky NW hops. The lack of filtration takes away from any crispness. Not really hyped that I bought a sixpack of this...wouldnít do it again.

Can. Pours a clear coppery orange with a thin head. Aromas are malty (almost a honey and dough mix) with a bit of light fruit and flavor is driven by grain dust and a bit of citrus and fruit (but in an awkward kind of way that makes me a bit sad.) Itís an OK beer, but it is pretty standard APA stuff.

Clear copper pour with a clear white head and sticky lacing .... Aroma of grapefruit and sugary crystal malts ... Sweet sugary malts and a bitter citrusy grapefruity hop ... Had a malty and sugary backbone .... Decent session brew not much more

12 ounce can, I believe this was just canned last week so itís pretty fresh. Served in a Sam Adams perfect pint glass, the beer pours a copper color with about a half inch off-white head that sticks around a while. Thereís also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells mostly like citrusy hops (grapefruit, citrus peel), along with some bready and caramel malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, but thereís also a bit of pine hops noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is medium, itís a bit slick, smooth, and easy to drink. I think itís a good pale ale, Iíd buy it again. $8.99 a 6-pack.

Draft at the village idiot, columbus. Copper pour, tastes like a dirty penny. Caramel malts, light ashtray. Not so good IMO
