2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Big thanks to vintage for having this rare beer on tap! A sweeter fresh smelling beer. Dark looking fer sure. Yes, first taste is vanilla but its not overdone. Perhaps a tad cloying at first then it eases into a fairly smooth brew. Hides alky well, can’t believe this is 6%+. Not bad overall, has manners and is quite civilized compared to other vanilla beer that simply want to get in your face. Does not seem to possess any artificial attributes.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Local Roots. Clear chestnut brown in color with a medium tan head. Aroma of vanilla, burnt sugar, caramel, chocolate and malt. Vanilla and malt flavor up front, giving way to caramel before a sweet chocolate finish. I’ve had this a couple time since then and it’s different every time. Sometimes it’s incredibly roasty with barely any vanilla character and other times it’s like a vanilla brown ale. This one was perfect, as it was nicely balanced between the traditional porter and vanilla accents.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draught at Woodlands Tavern. Pours brownish-black with a medium creamy tan head that diminishes steadily to a film. Rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of vanilla, malt and chocolate. Medium-bodied with flavors of vanilla, roasted malt and chocolate. The finish is sweet with a roasty malt and vanilla latte aftertaste. Pretty good all around.
