Not so great as an IPA, even with the in-you-face rye. Strong aromas. A good Belgian IPA, really, because of the Belgian yeast. Good drinkability but a bomber is too much for one, will cook with leftovers.

Bottle: Poured a deep amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of dry hoppy notes with some citrus undertones and some light peppery notes. Taste is also dominated by a mxi of peppery notes form the rye malt with some dry hoppy notes with some citrus undertones and some light fruity ester form the Belgian yeast. Body is about average with good carbonation. Solid rye IPA with plenty of complexity while retaining some very good drinkability.

On tap at Tangent Cafe in Vancouver. A medium amber beer with a bit of white head. Faint orange citrus nose. Not a super-hopped IPA, but a very pleasant one with noticeable malt as well. Nice. 3.8.

On tap. Spicy rye aroma with some apricot, tropical fruit, and light toasty caramel. Murky bronze under a lasting, bubbly off-white blanket. Sweet toasty caramel up front develops into bitter and spicy rye with a transcendent stone fruit hops and a pine accent. Medium body, moderate to low carbonation, clean finish.

Cask, Cascade Room. Hazy amber, w/ bubbly cask head. Aroma has chewy rye and floral slightly citrusy elements. Fruity mandarin and kayīsī character. Moderate bitterness, gets stronger as it lingers on the tongue, good beer overall.

Light amber with a pale head. Aroma is passionfruit, rose water, wildflower honey, grapefruit, hint of wild mint. Medium bodied, slightly sticky mouthfeel, well balanced hop bitterness on the palate with a fruity malt background. Flavours are passionfruit, rye, grapefruit, honey, marmalade. Another hit from Four Winds.

Draught @ Alibi Room, Vancouver, BC

Pours clear orange with a smooth head. Aroma of rye, grassy hops, wheaty yeastiness and spices. Taste is hoppy, malty and wheaty with loads of rye, earthy notes and yeast. Malty and hoppy finish with some rye bread notes and wheaty yeastiness. Quite a strange combination but works surprisingly well.
