[cask at the Prestoungrange Gothenburg, Prestonpans] Pours very dark brown, pretty much black. Thick white head. Extremely cold serve - Dave told me they pull it through a line that sits in the python with the lager lines. Little aroma as a result, other than the roasty edge. On the taste, once the smoothflow vibe had reduced, it was a very pleasant, dark, roasty porter. Nice dry aftertaste [26012013]

Cask by air pressure at Gothenburg, Prestonpans - black ale, good tan head, chocolate, toffee, coffee aroma and flavour, hint of burnt toast too, cool and refreshing

Doppelganger (1385) - Dry County, Arkansas, USA - MAR 26, 2007
Gravity, Banbury Beer Festival. Brown-highlighted black, frosty light tan head. Profoundly rich caramel aroma; all the loviness of a doppelbock, with an underlying layer of chocolate as a bonus. Mmmm. Flavor is lightly sour coffee roast, much dryer and thiner than the decadent aroma would indicate. Based on Glen’s ratings, I wonder if the cask had fallen a bit off of prime since the day before. Never-the-less, a noteworthy beer by aroma alone.

Cask at SRAF. Black pour with thin bubbles on top. Light roasty nose. Thin with a palate of vague burnt toast. Slight mocha finish maybe. Pretty bland.

RoyceH (1180) - Hesperange, LUXEMBOURG - NOV 23, 2007
Cask, Alloa BF 07. Black with an off-white head. Burnt plums and coffee in the nose. Mouth is inoffensive, with some toasted marshmallows, icing sugar and burning wood. Cocoa and roasted malts dominate.

GarethYoung (1109) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - FEB 7, 2007
[Cask from The Three Judges] Pitch black with a tight tan head. Roast and chocolate dominate the nose, undertow of herbal hops and some fruit. Medium bodied, palate les exciting than the nose, dry, roasty finish.
