Bottle conditioned, 500ml from Favourite Beers, Cheltenham, Gloucs. Black with tan head. Quite a bit of natural fizz on opening which gives the beer a bit of an over carbonated taste initially, but once settled down the other flavours spring forward. there is a thinnish coffee note with good dark roasted black malt with a hint of sweetness. Some fruitiness adds to a good mix, a pleasant stout.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a clear black with a reddish hue and a beige head. Burned malty aroma and a somewhat vinous, port-like edge. Medium body with good burned malts and dried fruit accents. Lightly bitter finish. A pleasant one. 230808

Bottle. A dark, dark brown beer with a nice tan head. Looking really good in the glass. Bonfire-sour, burnt aroma with charcoal and some coffee. Nice, but too burnt for my likings. The flavor folllows the same path, with bonfire sourness, charcoal, burnt malt, some coffee and a coffee-like bitterness. Long, burnt finish. Dry and full-bodied. A quite nice burnt beer, but I would like some hops playing a part too. (080823)

Bottled at Monks Cafe, Stockholm. Pours out in an almost black colour with a rich tan-coloured foam. Black chocolate, roasted malts, mint, chalk, currant-leaves and grapefruit-rind. Medium to full-bodied with notes of black chocolate, currant-leaves, berries and plenty of roasted malts. Grainy and rather chewy mouthfeel. Long aftertaste of black chocolate, lemon-rind, nut-shells and cocoa.
