750 mL bottle from Whole Foods Market Vienna, VA. Pours a clear golden color with no head. Aroma of sweet honey, vanilla, apricot and melon. The taste is very sweet honey, citrus, apricot, melon and a strong medicinal note. Medium-full bodied. A little too sweet and without that medicinal thing going on it’d be much better.

Bottle at cedric’s on Biltmore estate - pours a clear dark orange gold. Big nose, alcohol, honey, violet, butterscotch. Taste is mild, slightly sweet, spicy alcohol in the middle, and a smooth and creamy honey-butterscotch finish which becomes more pronounced as it warms. Very delicate and doesn’t taste like 13% alcohol, though it definitely smells like 13%. Overall, I like my first mead.

Pours a nice orange hue. Not too thick just right. Aroma of honey with hints of herbs. Nice honey flavors with a touch of spice. The oak is rather subdued with a hint of something medicinal in the finish.

Smells of a sweet red wine,no traces of honey. Color is clear yellow, with a greenish hue,similar to vegetable oil.Semi-sweet and drier than i prefer. Tastes of grapes and grape seeds, with a subdued oak finish. Watery mouthfeel.Alcohol is evident. Not as complex as billed but still decent.
