wyzzywyz22 (244), Wirral, Merseyside, England Apr 24, 2008 Bottle. Beers of Europe. Pours a dark amber wth an off white foamy dissipating head. Orangey, hoppy aroma with notes of leather. Sweet smooth and full bodied, with a nice orangey tang. Well balanced dryish finish. A very good English IPA ! Tally ho !
DruncanVeasey (1533), Burbage, Croatia May 25, 2008 Bottle. Pours murky orange with a fine collar of froth and clinging lace. Earthy citrus aroma with a big waft of grapefruit, floral hops, hopleaf, chunks of pineapple jelly. La Rulles and Tunnel. Pithy, ashy and a bit fizzy in the mouth, with tangy orange and grapefruit, peanut, sweet biscuity malt. Just a bit soft and mealy to finish, but the hops are ticking the right boxes. Decent, solidly hopped bitter with enough hop clout to qualify as an IPA proper, and more character than some proclaimed IPAs several % stronger. And I bet the cask version is even better. hughie (2059), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Aug 7, 2007 Orange with a large soapy white head. Leathery, seaweed aroma. Strong taste of hops and a bit of background alcohol. Plus a less pleasant hint of varnish. The description ’robust’ is quite appropriate. SilkTork (3794), Rochester, Kent, England May 16, 2007 500ml bottle from BeersOfEurope. A strong bitter with chocolate notes from the crystal malt. Rough English hops are noticeable, though not fully attractive. Yeast is quite apparent, along with some acidic notes. It’s a drinkable thing, but it ain’t that good. motelpogo (4111), Plzen, Czech Republic Feb 7, 2007 rbsxg05, bottled. regular golden, hard texture, faint red berry sweetness and a menthol finish. so-so
