3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 duff (5483) - St, Margarets, - JUN 14, 2005
Bottle. I wouldn’t call this a bitter, leans more toward something like a old ale or an English strong ale, flavourwise. This is quite complex, yet maintains a soft mouthfeel. Lots of flavours come out. First some berry fruit fruit, toasty/caramelly malt, nuts and wood. Lightly sweet to start, with some tart, almost winey acidity/dryness. Smooth however, with some lightly smokey characters and more berries in the finish. Long finish. Quite interesting it has to be said, really tasty.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 BeerCast_Rich (1202) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 5, 2011
[500ml bottle, Beers of Europe, King’s Lynn] Really interesting nose - slightly acetic, some rich plummy fruit from the rum. Pours a deep brownish red with a very thin head. The primary flavour comes from the rum – a rich spiciness, slight sourness that gives a strangely ketchup-style flavour. Just not sure it’s that well-balanced, the flavours don’t add up to a convincing whole [04052009]

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and spices, as well light notes of ginger. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of ginger and caramel, leading to a dry spicy finish - especially cardemomme. Thanks fonefan for sharing.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Papsoe (22983) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 26, 2008
(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of fonefan. Slightly hazy amber golden with a small, rough, of-white head. Delicious fruit aroma – and some distinct Brett. Medium body, lightly sweet caramel and nuts and some fairly spicy notes. Lightly bitter finish. Doubt that the Brett was intended, but it really adds to the beer in a positive way. 220808

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 yngwie (9205) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - SEP 1, 2008
Bottle, shared by fonefan. It pours an orange-golden slightly hazy body under a beige head of minimal height. More or less a layer of bubbles. Dusty, slightly citric nose with caramel and toffee. Caramel and some spiced notes in the flavor, along with a slightly funky note. Medium body. Dusty, citric and sour finish with some bitterness. Even though it’s a drinkable beer, there’s evidence of infection in it, which would probably have left it undrinkable in short time. (080822)
