Bottled. A deep red beer with a slight haze under a huge tan head. The aroma is sweet wtih strong notes of chocolate, and light notes of coffee and an edge of acidity. The flavor is sweet with notes of chocolate and cocoa beans, as well as a slight acidity - does it stem from the roasted malt or a slight infection? I think the latter. Thanks to fonefan and Brugmansia for sharing.

Bottle, shared by fonefan. It pours a beautiful ruby-brown body, unclear, with a nice, lasting beige head. Roasted malt, dried fruits and, unfortunately, a little sourness and dusty impression. It has a medium full body, with flavors of roasted malt, coffee, some citric sourness and a coffee-like bitterness. The finish is coffee-bitter too, and also has a fruity hoppyness. A quite nice one. I’m not surprised by sourness in an old ale, but the sourness found here is the kind you find in a beer going bad. Fortunately, it wasn’t running the show. ( 080822)

50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown, redish glare, with a huge tan head. Chocolate and mild roasted malt aroma with a mild herbal note. Flavour is chocolate malty with a mild smoke note and a light bitterness coming through. Otherwise quite smooth with a nice smoke angle. Mild roasted acidity and bitterness into the finish.
