On tap at the Oshkosh brewpub, pours a hazy light amber with a good head. Thick malty nose, thick malty taste with a hint of corriander and a bitter finish. It’s, ok.

On tap at WI Microbrewer’s Fest. Pale orange in color. Mild flower hop aroma and caramel malts. Flavor is mostly caramel malts mild bitterness. Smooth and drinkable. Good example of the style. Runs down the medium road.

Amber with next to no head. Aroma of toffee, nuts and sweet malt with very little hop presence. Thin bodied beer with toffee, malt and diacetyl. Ok.

Skyview (4880) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - MAY 19, 2008
Served on draught at the Wisconsin Micro-brewers Beerfest in Chilton, Wisconsin. Pours a clear dark golden amber brew with a thin off-white head that quickly disappears to a fine film and ring. Aroma of caramel malt, some orange zest, a touch of raisin and brown sugar. Taste is medium to full bodied, some grainy texture with flavors of caramel malt, raisin, brown sugar and a touch of butter. Finish is slightly metallic due to some increased alcohol presence with a a light raisin aftertaste that slowly disappears.

tap in Oshkosh. A big frothy head with intricate lace usually leads to a big a satisfying brew. Not this time, unfortunately. A pale orange with an orangish nose. Bubblegum flavor is a bit offputting, some late maltiness saved this from the drain. Avoid.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2005 Dark gold pour with thin, white head. Very sweet aroma with a hint of grains. Caramel malt flavor dominates with little hop presence. There was a slight sourness in the background. Low carbonation with a medium, syrupy body.

Hand labeled bottle - how cool. The aroma is sticky sweet, hinting at cherry syrup, sweet malt, vanilla and some floral hops. The body is slightly bitter, but mostly buttery with caramel undertones. Sweet and creamy all around, but a little too much for my likings. Good though with an easy drinkability.

Gold with White Head. Sweet Malt and Hops Aroma. Solid Malt Background with Hops and Light Spices Ensuing. Pretty Base Maibock Though. Light Overall. Nothing Standoff-ish About it.

Opulent, clear brazen orange in color with a 1" tan, foamy mass for a head in my boot glass. Aroma is strongly of canned corn juice. Hard to decipher much through that. Maybe some rice cereal, caramel and hay barrels. Flavor is trademark, on-the-fence maibock. Grainy, with toasted malts and caramel sweetness. Like the base of a coffee cake, void of the brown sugar and cinnamon and, hell, it’s missing all of the desirable elements. Slightly thin bodied. Looks lively, but carbonation is lacking and I’d rather a nobler effort from the hops. Finishes crisp like a pils with a cornbread burp riding on its coattails. Not too good, but not that bad.
