COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
X was brewed to commemorate ten years of great beers brewed at Fox River Brewing Co. This barley wine style ale is amber in color and best consumed leisurely. Slightly sweet and full bodied, the raisin and pear flavor is created through a blending of biscuit malts and just enough hops to balance a lingering warm finish. Enjoy on any occasion, but perfect after dinner, with desserts or strong cheese. Drink today or cellar bottle in a cool, dark place. Cheers!

2006 GTMW. Clear copper; thin white hoppy IPA/brown aroma. Thick caramel hop flavor, double hopped brown with light milk chocolate. Almost a bunch of stuff messily thrown together, but comes out okay.

Orange copper in color. Was sour. Fuity nose and wonderful overall aroma. Not bad.

Spotted this bottle in the cooler at Fox River’s Appleton location while getting a six pack for the raod. Aroma was of fermented sweet fruit. Pour from the big green botte was a dark amber with a mahagany hue and small head. Flavor has a lingering fruity plumb. Medium sweet fruit along with the alcohol presence gives your body a warming feeling. Was little harsh on palate but mellowed out by third glass. Decent brew.

Courtesy of Skyview. Dark copper color with no head. Very sweet malt aroma. A light bitterness up front on the taste. Turns to a sweet caramel and malt, finishing a little like butterscotch, but not in the infected/poorly-brewed way.

750ml bottle. Murky brown pour. Sweet alcohol aroma, malty, really nice. A little tart, and dry and some rich tasty malts. Good stuff. (1080)

A copper color with a strong citrus and caramel aroma. The flavor caught me off guard and not what I was expecting in a barley wine. It was quite sour with a belgian like quality to it. Overall it was different but decent enough.

Hazy Autumn Fire Orange with White Skin. Aroma Similiar to What you Would Smell Off of the Belgian Red or Sour...Alcohol Quite Noticeable...Nice Warming...Thin Mouthfeel... Light But Syrapy...Quite Tart Throughout...Far More Similiar to A Light Flemish Sour Than What is Accustomed in a Barleywine...However, Still a Nice Beer In Of Itself, Regardless of What Style You Want to Put it Under.

KP’s fest. Lighter than expected pour- light amber with a thin off white head. Aroma is actually pretty good- with slight spice, some citrus and spicy hops, and a thick sweet sticky malt profile. But then you get to the flavor and realize the sourness- must be a bacterial infection or somthing- which is wierd since you dont see that much in a strong BW. Obvioulsy weak body, with a light tart acidic finish. Would have been nice if fresh.

Umber to copper in color with just a little swirl of tine bubbles on top. Caramel, toffee, stewed dark fruits, and just hints of wood and herbal hops. Light with just a little prickle on the tongue. Light sweet caramel start. Bit of acetic-ness in this one, which reminds me of my grandmothers strawberry wine. LIghtly fruity and only hints of alcohol. Interesting stuff, not great, but interesting. Would make an interesting marinade, or reduction with pork.
