Sampled on draft at the Allegheny Grille (formerly Foxburg Inn) this beer poured a dark brown color with orange highlights and only a touch of a tan head that faded quickly. The aroma was light fruit and cola. The flavor was cherry, cola, tangy sour nut and a bit of wood. The finish was medium length tangy nut, fruit and wood. Medium body. Decent.

Draught. I had to recheck with the waitress to make sure I was drinking the original Silver Fox Red Amber that I had heard so much about. My wife’s iced tea had more head. Minimal aroma from virtually no carbonation. Taste wasn’t bad, something like caramel malts, with hardly any hop bitterness. The waitress said all the beers served were headless! I was extremely disappointed.

Draght. Great color once again as it poured a light ruby with not much carbonation and a diminishing head. A little malt sweetness coupled with slight taste of hops, but not much. Finished OK with a smoothness that forced me to try another. Not bad stuff. Great place to overlook the Allegheny River here in Western PA.

Nice red/amber color. Limited head retention. Slightly sweet and malty. Not highly hopped. Smooth carbonation. Weak but clean aftertaste.
