On tap at bateau de nuit. Clear dark gold pour. Really grainy aroma, smells like a feed mill, aroma hops are rather faint. Taste is quite hoppy, good resinous bitterness with some flavor hops, light biscuity malt, honey, no perceptible alcohol. Palate is silky, not too sweet. Good.

Purchased a single bottle of these at a local IGA. Pours a clean amber colour with a frothy warm cap, good retention and lacing. Big grassy pine aromas at first, with hints Belgian Ale yeast. The mouthfeel is bitter, but not crazy dry. Becomes a little hazy at last pour. The taste has the hops with grassy notes, but also something else which is a little out of place. Mild sourness, sweetness. Other than that, not a bad imperial IPA with some good hoppy bitterness.

Bottle. Clear copper pour, small beige head. Aroma is quite sweet, caramel, and bready malts, with some candied citrus rind. Viscous mouth feel, normal carb. The finish has big notes of orange, and the hops really come through in the end. The malt bill is huge though, and make this pretty sweet, heavy, and boozy. Not bad, but need some lightening up.

Pours orange amber with a small just off-white cap that fades fairly quickly and leaves a touch of lacing. Nose is citrus caramel and spice. Sturdy, simple caramel malt with some nice citrus hops. Kind of boring but well-made.

355ml bottle from Broue Ha Ha in Gatineau, Quebec. Orange-amber in colour with a thin white head, little lacing. The aroma is of light citrus, some caramel, fruity. The flavour is moderately sweet, lots of fruit, citrus hops, light alcohol. Finishes long, sweet turning bitter.

UPDATED: JUL 1, 2015 Update July 1st: on tap at Brasseurs du Moulin. This is much more piney in draft, less caramel. More citrusy too. Carbonation lacking a bit but could be related to the equipment here since it’s still new. Glad I tried it on tap today. Bottle from local IGA. Aroma: Caramel, citrus, resin, pineapple and pines App: copper with small white head. Taste and Palate: light-medium sweet, medium bitterness. medium body, oily, soft carbonation. Overall: Not the best double IPA I tasted, too sweet, carbonation so soft, almost flat that it feels as we?re drinking water but we definitely can feel the high ABV. Not bad, but not great.
