COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This dark ale has a full body and a rich creamy head. Brewed by decoction, you will discover a rich caramelized malt flavour accompanied by a subtle hop bitterness and lingering notes of roasted malt.

341 ml bottle from Broue Ha Ha, shared with Lubiere. 08JL12.

App.: Deep brown-black with a yellowish-tan head. Aroma: Rich dark fruits, minty herbals, yeasty, Dubble/Abt notes, some alcohol, brown sugar, almost some licorice/molasses, esters, pretty nice stuff. Palate: Medium body, creamy, restrained head. Flav.: Estery, rich dark dried fruits, delicious, some alcohol, brown sugar, minty herbals, big stuff; sweet with fair bitterness and a long, alcoholic, dark dried fruit finish.

A nice surprise!

Carbonatation moyenne-faible, corps moyen-dense.

Draught at Boswell. Caramel and dark fruits dominate, notes of cinnamon, mildly boozy, gentle sweet finish. Good stuff, has some sweet warming quality of a Porto wine.

Arômes de cuir, teriaki et BarBQ. Goût de mélasse et de raisins subtile. Fumée, assez complexe. Très adorable !

On tap on the premise. Pours a dark brown with lighter highlights with a small beige head that leaves nice lacing. Nose is of alcohol and dark fruits. Taste is moderately sweet and features the usual/expected dark fruits and some alcohol. Body is medium-full, carbonation moderate and mouthfeel sticky and heavy. A bit too much alcohol to be considered world-class but still quite enjoyable.

Loads of dark bready malts and some nice dark fruits and subtle spice. Soft carb and very full mouth feel. A very nice winter sipper for sure.

Bottle from Halles St-Jean. Aroma: red fruits, caramel. App: dark brown with small beige head. Taste and palate: full body, fizzy carbonation that tickles the tongue, medium sweetness, dry sweet, alcohol and roast finish. Overall: a good beer on this extremely cold day since we can feel the alcohol going down. On the other hand, would prefer to have a carbonation less fizzy and maybe less sweet. For the price of this beer, you can’t get wrong though, a good product for the price.
