Draft pint at the brewpub. A golden beer, white topped. It’s a bit frothy. Straw and sweet grass dominate in this surprisingly authentic koelsch. Yummy (#3662, 9/13/2009)
3.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 mikeschuld (45) - Bozeman, Montana, USA - OCT 12, 2011
Almost no aroma. Clear with a very thin head. High carbonation leaves tounge tingling at the finish. Not very interesting overall.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 angrybeerman (258) - Dublin, IRELAND - OCT 18, 2009
Got this on draught in the Bull and Castle pub in Dublin. Pleasant golden colour with a decent and fairly lasting white head. Nice fruity aroma with a Taste was quite citrus and gently hoppy with a nice clean, crisp and slightly bitter finish but was perhaps a little watery. Had a nice, lasting aftertaste. Beer was better than I expected and I may well go back to it at another stage.

Draft at Bull and Castle, Dublin. Pour was golden color, sparkling bubbles, large initial head with true retention and lacing. Nose was bready, grassy, and fruity, fairly typical. The flavor followed suit, some added graininess, but also a metallic light touch, something that kept this from finishing crisp and sharp, I was even suspicious of it being served on Nitrogen (minus the mouthfeel) over a couple of sips.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Perm (151) - Tryon, North Carolina, USA - NOV 12, 2007
At the Bull & Castle, Dublin
Koelsch-style ale.
an extremely light ale, but I found the light color to be quite deceptive. It has quite a bit going on, but it took having it along with the food to bring out all the magic. By itself, it has very nice subtle malt tones with a slight hint of fruit. All subtleties were swept aside when combined with the excellent haddock & chips -- it came to life as a complex ale: bubbly to cleanse the palate, just bitter enough to quench, and slightly sweet for fun.

On tap at the brewery. Pours with almost no head and has a clear and low carbonated golden body that is actually very pretty. You can tell it is not a crappy pale lager just by looking at it. Bready aroma. Grassy hops that made me actually think that this was a lager. Slightly sweet taste. End is bready again. Fransiscan Well ought to have more customers and more ratings because they seem to be truly committed to good beer and its proliferation.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Oakes (10196) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 22, 2011
Blonde colour. Mossy-herbal hop aroma. Soft, modest bitterness and some light leafy hops. Decent, fairly straightforward beer.

2009-05-20. Crisp yellow body with a small foamy white head and lace that fades. Mild aroma, muted hops are lightly grassy and floral, mild grainy pale malts. Flavour is also mild, light bitterness, grassy bit, mild pale malts. I preferred the lager I think. On tap at Franciscan Well, Cork
