3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft pour. The beer is a hazy gold with a big white head of foam. Very strong retention. The beer has notes of sweet fruits and dough. They claim toffee notes, but i cant pick up on them. Mild sweetness in the taste and medium carbonation.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle, from Tesco Cleethorpes. Hazy orange gold, thin shortlived white head and moderate condition. Low fruity esters, hints of lemon citrus and a slight spiciness in the nose, dry and slightly yeast bitter with a faintly estery fruitiness that has a low infected edge to it, dry yeasty finish with some clove notes lingering.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draught at the Porterhouse (Central)
Pours a very hazy yellow with a small-ish head.
The aroma is the perfect combination of spicy banana on clove. The beer smells sweet but it’s aromatic and spot on for a hefeweizen.
The flavor is spicy and not overly sweet at all, the banana is just right without being cloying or overbearing. The beer is fairly clean all around, or at least as clean as a hefeweizen can be. The level of spice is low to style.
Remarkably true to style, no way this wouldn’t pass as a true German made Hefe in a blind taste test.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at EBBC14, cloudy amber, light citrus and banana nose, initially dry then fruity, gentle hoppiness in the finish. Intriguing interpretation of a Hefeweiss.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Franciscan Well 17/05/06. This one was called Friar Wiesse when I visited there in May. Some cloves in the taste and aftertaste was of cinnamon - at first it was almost a cinnamon burn. Strong cinnamon nose. This was a bit different to most wheat beers that I have tried and I quite liked this one because of its difference.
