Cask conditioned at B&C, Dublin (tapped as I walked into the building as luck would have it!). Jet black with thin crown of tan froth, plenty of lacing. Aroma gives loads and loads of fruity Jameson character (my old man's favourite whiskey, and the first one he had me try aged 13 - so the memory resonates!). Some treacle and dark roast coffee in there too. Taste gives a big dollop of fairly thick roasted malt: plenty of chocolate, coffee, and burnt sugar come to the fore. Following this is a lovely little hint of fruity Irish whiskey - touch of vanilla from the barrel too. Aftertaste is a lengthy roasted note with some fruity and semi-sweet whiskey heat too. Mouthfeel surprisingly medium/thin - easy drinking stuff. This is a cracker, one of the best Irish brews I've ever tasted - a nearly-sessionable barrel-aged stout: class.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Creedence (127) - Cork, IRELAND - FEB 17, 2013
Glass at Franciscan Well Winter Ale Festival. Aroma is very smoky. pours a dark black with thin brown head. Taste is smoky, strong coffee, nice underlying sweetness. Medium body, lingering bittersweetness, surprisingly smooth and light for the strength. Overall - very good. Not quite sure if it’s worth all the hype though.

Bought mine in Bradley’s north main street. This is the best Irish beer I have ever tasted. We soft whiskey after taste . The stout has dark choc, coffee and roasted malt taste with the whiskey giving it an interesting finish
