3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured pint in oneills pub on Pearce street Dublin. Decent red ale, nothing perceived in the nose. Taste hints at a lot of things without delivering much on any level. What we’re left with it is a perfectly serviceable Irish Red ale.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Franciscan Well Rebel Red has a thick, off-white head, a mostly clear, rust-red appearance, some visible white sediment roiling about, and thin lacing left behind. The aroma is of slightly sweet bread crust, some caramel, and a touch of citrus. Taste is of those elements, with tea qualities and a decent and noticeable, yet mild, bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Franciscan Well Rebel Red finishes crisp and refreshing. RJT

Tipica red ale amb el seu sabor intens. No es el meu estil pero d’aquest tipus es de les que m’ha agradat mes.

Tap, red with a light malty-sweet nose, nutty-sweet palate, a little hoppiness coming through in the finish.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Picked up at Tesco Extra Miltpn Keynes, Saturday 24th May 2014 consumed at home Sunday 1st June 2014 Pretty boring really, I wanted to leave it at that but felt I should at least explain why. Pours reddy dark amber with off-white head. Lots of tinny flavours and toffee. Bit chewy, bit boring, actually a lot boring, its boring. A5 A3 T6 P3 Ov11 2.8

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Two 330 ml bottles, poured first into an English pint, which I topped up with the second. Dark amber with a persisting off white head. Fruity blackcurrant and sultana aroma. Flavour of fruit and nut toffee, and 70’s sweetshop penny chew. All fairly familiar, but lifted by creamy mouthfeel and a nice, if somewhat short-lived, bitter finish. I came to this hoping to be disparaging about a mega-corp version of craft beer, and ended up enjoying it as an accompaniment to cooking. Teach me to be mealy-mouthed.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Thin offwhite head of fine bubbles with very good carbonation. Deep reddish brown in color. Light malty and grainy aroma with some cherry and roastyness. Mild grains in the flavor with bit more cherry and a soft dry malts. Pretty bland and generic but one would expect that from a irish ale. Decent. Puchased and drank in Clonmel, Ireland.
