On tap at the Bavarian Grill, Plano. Came to the table hazy golden with a formidable frothy white head. Under the nice, clean straw/citrus-forward nose was the distinct aroma that greets you on any brewery tour- that unmistakable, comforting malty, grain scent. Tasted of summer, of bright floral sweetness (almost wildflower honey). Light bodied, mildly carbonated. Would order again.

Draft, Ginger Man Ft. Worth. Aroma is estery, with a little banana, and some grain. Light and crisp with a little more fruit esters.

Nice sourdough breadiness. Some floral notes and nice crisp finish. More depth than other domestic kolschs I have tried.

Tap at Ginger Man Houston. Clear yellow with a good sized white head. Mild aroma of grass, bread and light citrus. Decent flavor without being standout; lightly sweet bready malt with some floral and citrus elements. Light medium bodied, easy drinking and refreshing without being watery. Definitely works as a session type beer.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Mora2000 (2732) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUL 23, 2011
On tap at the brewery. The beer pours a golden yellow color with a white head. The aroma is wheat and grain with some lemon and grass notes. The flavor is more of the same. I get a lot of wheat with some lemon and grape notes. There is a little bit of grass and earth from the hops, but they contribute basically no bitterness. Light and refreshing, this is a very easy beer to drink. Medium carbonation. A great beer for a hot summer day.

Tap at brewery, poured by Swalden. Pours a deep, rich mustard orange with an engaging aroma of dewy grass, freshly-fallen autumn leaves, and floral bread. Flavor is a floral/sweet hoppy bread with light toast around the edges. Tingly and lingering on the tongue. Fantastic kolsch!
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Dixonian (940) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUL 12, 2011
Out of their 200 year old barrel @ the Addison Flying Saucer.
Clear yellow pour with a nice amount of white head. Aromas of grain, fresh cut grass, some citrus, and wood from the barrel. Flavor is woody as well with more citrus, spice, and grass. Not bad - I typically don’t care for beers in this style.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20 GuilTTy (686) - Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA - JUL 2, 2011
On tap at the Austin, TX Ginger Man. Hazy straw pour under a two finger shaving cream texture white head. Mild citrus aroma. Lightly malty flavor with lemon zest and some sour yeast character. Rich texture and a long modestly sweet finish. This one just didn’t work for me. Lacks the classic flavor and texture profiles of a Kölsch.

Clear gold with a nice white head. Smells light and grassy and a little sweet. Flavor is grains with a little citrus and just a hint of earthiness. Very light and refreshing.
