Rater #3.On tap at square burger. Pours a deep muddy mahogany with a thin white head. The aromas are plum, cinnamon, oak. The mouthfeel is sweet, syrupy and oaky with a heavy body. Franconia’s best beer to date! Cheers!

on tap at franconia. poured brown with an almost beige head. aroma was caramel, toffee, and some oak. flavor was loads of toffee, caramel in my mouth, oak, whiskey (although not whiskey oak), and maybe a wee bit of chocolate. body was medium with a creamy carbonation.

On tap at brewery. Pours a deep, dark copper/brown with creamy tan head. Aroma of burnt caramel, toasted oak, hints of dark fruit, toasted malt, with a very nice, bold alcohol spiciness. Flavor is much the same with a very nice sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium-heavy body with medium carbonation. Overall, a very nice, tasty surprise from the guy’s at Franconia. Hope they do this again next year!
