Cavie (1317), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Feb 4, 2009 Dark rose pour with a distant aroma. Taste was bittersweet with an increasingly dryer finish. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Jan 7, 2009 (Draught) Pours hazy brown body with a small tan head. Aroma of wheat, banana, light clove, and some nuttiness. Flavor of wheat, caramel, banana, touch of fennel, and light roastiness. legion242 (1572), Richardson, Texas, USA Dec 21, 2008 sorry to have to give this one such low marks, as I am a fan of these guys, but as always, I have never had an American weizenbock that could pull off the richness and depth of the Germans. This is certainly quaffable, but very thin. Swalden28 (1439), McKinney, Texas, USA Dec 16, 2008 On tap at the Bavarian Grill in Plano, TX. Pours a very nice looking deep cloudy brown with rich tan head. Aroma of wheat malt, alcohol, yeast, notes of clove and banana. Flavor is semi sweet with clove notes, malt. Mouthfeel is medium body with medium high carbonation. Overall, pretty tasty stuff. blutt59 (2042), Dallas, Texas, USA Dec 12, 2008 on tap at the flying saucer, dark brown pour with a nutty malt aroma, flavor is caramel, a little banana and some cocoa, finish is a little too bitter BMan1113VR (2757), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Dec 10, 2008 On tap. Uploaded beer and sent in a picture. Pours a hazy deep brown hued body and a thing light brown cola head and good rings of lacing. Head fades slowly. Banana, wheat and nuts on the aroma. Slight hints of vanilla and vinegar. Clearly the same yeast profile as Franconias Hefe, which I happen to like a lot. Taste, hmm, a weizenbock. . .did not know this before hand. Taste is banana esters, a touch watery with toffee, chocolate, vanilla clove and yeast. A bit of vinegar and a good spicy yeast presence. Water to milk like consistency, a bit warming with light carbonation. Good long yeasty aftertaste. Of note, there is a light touch of funk or wild yeast or Brett in the aroma that I am sure is not suppose to be there. There is a very light off-sour note in the tastes. Infection? It does not distract from the positive qualities of this beer.
