Bottle shared with MichaelBruch. Clear light golden colour with steady head and medium body for the looks. Taste of bitter hops, mild citrus fruits and old grass comes after a poor aroma. Easy to drink but way beyond delicious.

Alengrin (2464) - BELGIUM - AUG 15, 2014
Typical south German Pilsener with snow white, regular, quite thick and stable head and clear, pale straw golden colour. Pure and pleasant pale malts in the nose, sweetish, bit grainy, bit cheesy, iron, flowery hops. Soft malt sweetness in the mouth, faintly metallic, rounded, mildly hop bitter finish. Simple but credible and thirst-quenching.

(Bottle). Aroma of malt and grassy hops. Clearly malty taste with dry grassy hops in the finish. OK Pilsener!

Tall flip-top 500ml bottle: BBD 2nd Mar 15. Poured into an old Schultheiss glass at home on 7th Aug 14. Very pale, clear and clean golden blonde: full white foaming head that hung around. Semi-sweet corn and herbal nose. Crisp and refreshing: a good solid Pilsner with a little more sweetness than bitterness in the mouth. Nothing complicated or different here, just a good example of a German Pilsner and I would happily have another and another.

Pale yellow clear body with white lacing head. Aromas malts, hay, grains and grassy hops. Palate is slick, thin with medium full carbonation. Mouth feel is somewhat soupy and medium thin. Taste is dry bitter, and hoppy. Very simple and clear texture. Has a distinct bitter grassy hops flavor with some fruity tartness and metal in the finish. Actually quite surprising for a Frankish beer. Drinkable due to hoppy bitter edge. BUt quite simple overall.
