Bottled. Ruby red colour, but rather red than appearing black. Bubbly small head. Light roastmalty, coffeish aroma. Roastmalty, slightly caramelly taste, but with a distinct hop character, especially in the dry finish. This beer makes up in flavour, what it lacked in appearance and aroma. Therefore, quite decent.

Sorry for the german rating, but this is a lousy rating from my "newbie" time (2007-2009), and it’s not worth of being translated. I just added it for the statistics, and to complete my backlog!
Das Bier ergießt sich nahezu pechschwarz, etwas rubinrot ins Glas. Die Krone ist recht flach und hält sich ziemlich lange. Der Antrunk fällt röstmalzig und kaffee-bitter aus. Der abgang wandelt sich in einen süßen Ton um. Harmoniert sehr gut miteinander, aber das Ganze könnte etwas mehr Pepp vertragen. Das Schwarzbier ist meiner Meinung nach zu mild.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass deep black, small head. Starts mild, fine malty, not too roasty, modest sweet. Fruity hints of plum. Finish well balanced, quite drinkable. Good schwarzbier.

Swingtop bottle. High creamy off-white lasting head. Clear dark brown body. Mild sweet roasted malt aroma. Thin bodied mild roasted malt liquorice flavor with a fair amount of hops bitterness. High carbonation long aftertaste.

Botella. Clear deep dark brown colour, Beige lively bubbly head. Good aroma of roasty like malt, toffee, chocolate and some dark fruit. Good mouthfeel. Flavour is good with roasty malt, some chocolate, dark fruit and a pleasant medium bitterness.

[9/21/11] Mahleket Hanikot Shotrim ’11 tour. Draught in some bar in Weimar. Clear very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is slightly roasty with caramel and some toasted bread. Sweetish flavor with toasted malt, caramel and slightly drier finish with faint herbal hints. Light-medium-bodied. Decent.

Bottle.Dark brown coloour with medium head.Aroma is sweet rosted and malty with flavor of brown sugar toffee caramel and malt,mild mouthfeels and light body.Feels easy to drink.

Malziger, aber auch irgendwie etwas wässriger Antrunk. Die Malzigkeit gerät zunehmend in den Hintergrund, auch wenn sich kein Aroma wirklich davor schiebt. Eher lasch wirkt auch die Hopfigkeit, auch wenn sie zum Abgang hin stärker wird. Mildes Schwarzbier, oder eher: Mildes Dunkles. Test vom 29.11.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,7,9,7,10,7 - 7,65

Draft. Dark brown, mahogany, with thick aerated head. Aroma of sweet brown bread. Soft palate. Boring flavors. Yeasty on the palate but finishes dry.

Chestnut colour. Rich toffeeish aroma. Fairly full taste, lots of dark sugars and good malt complexity. Tasty.

50cl bottle from Bierzwerg. Poured dark brown color with a frothy head. Aroma is slightly sweet sugary and roasted malt. Flavor is chocolate and caramel with some roastedness. Bit thin, but overall very drinkable. Liked this one. Similar to Köstritzer I think.
