Beautiful dark amber color. It’s too cold of course. It has a simple aroma and a quite good caramel flavor, also quite dry mouthfeel, but unluckly a bit metallic too.

Gravity - Dark copper body, creamy off white head; Very fruity nose, lots of red berries with black currant in front, lots of malt aromas as well; Big carbonation in full only slightly bitter body; Very fruity (and to much of it) almost a little sour, bitter finish, black currant again with lots of malty bitterness, not elegant at all.

On tap, March 07. Clear copper color with a medium, bubbly light tan head. Light toasty aroma and a bit of skunk. Fruity a touch of bread, somewhat acid and a methallic finnish. Medium to light mouthfeel, a bit watery. Regular, macro-like Alt.

Dry with a hint of pepper enjoyable and have had a couple six packs of this. Page 168 of Michael Jackson’s Great Beer Guide only 409 out 500 Classic Brews to go.

Barrelly snout. Sweet, fruity, almost cherryish opening with lovely soft bready-malty afters. Some very woody, smoky malt and vinous notes. Rounded, balanced and very lacy. That characteristic Alt tang of bitter orange fruitiness. Just enough hoppy bitterness in the finish. A very accomplished specimen.

Bottled. Amberish brown colour with small off-white head. Aroma is malts, earth and hops with some metallic and plastic hints. Flavour is malts, slight fruits and fresh wood. Aftertaste and finish are quite bitterish, but still balanced up with caramel. A quite pleasant altbier.
