This is a decent session ale. I noticed a licorice nuance along with a bready, yeasty flavor. It's got a relatively light body that won't fill you up.

Nice, mellow, easy-drinking beer. Clean continental ale yeast mixed w/pils malt base and munich/dark malt toast. You can drink a lot of these and feel good about it.

Robust amber body. Slightly nutty taste. If you like ESB's you should like this. Reminds me of Redhook's excellent ESB. A fine example will by again.

Full amber body with an extra thick puffy, mountain head, this brew was quite similar to a dunkel or dark lager ala San Miguel Dark Lager. The aroma was like a dunkel malt, but crescendoed into a sugary maltiness well balanced by a more robust/nutty backbone. Clean bodied with nuttyish malts taking form make this an easy going, malty beer enjoyable for all occassions.

Medium chestnut colored, thin head, lots of carbonation. Earthy malt and nutty aroma, like a cross between a dunkel and an English brown. Hazelnut and roasty malt flavors are quite distinctive, and intercepted by an adequate bitterness, touch of sourness. Light bodied, not as fizzy as expected, with a lingering finish. My first of the style, and I quite enjoyed it.

just tried this flat, boring beer on tap last night, very little head, no carbonation, and a rather bland taste makes for a real stiff!

Not bad, but not great either. No off flavors. I’m starting to think that I may not be a big fan of alt beer. I found this in bottle form in the States. Maybe I need to try it fresh on draft in Germany.

liked this 6 years ago but had it again in duesseldorf on the same day as many quality alts and it paled in comparison

Good hoppy character and nice maltiness, though less sweet/nutty than Diebels. Foamy off-white head, lacing, atop brownish-red dark beer. Medium-low carb with medium watery body. Malty, but more hoppy than others. Dry, papery taste. Light nuttiness in finish and after, with a bit of honey/vanilla. Pretty good altbier.
