stravale (2035) - Near Carrick-on-Shannon, IRELAND - MAY 25, 2013
Bottle from Beer Hive, Edinburgh [240513]
Caramel brown, clear, bubbly thin white head, some lacing
Aroma of soft sweet toasted malt, light caramel malts
Taste of caramel malts, soft roasted grains, touch of biscuit, bitter hops, dull
Palate - Medium carb - bit over fizzy, thinnish body, light oily texture. Finish as main flavour, some bitterness, little dry, rapid finish
Overall - This didn’t impress me at all, dull and boring

02-APR-2013, bottle @hotel in Berlin. Clear brown with ladting grey/tan head. Caramel and tobaco and a touch of "alt". Medium to thin body with nice carbonation. Finishes slightly bitter. My first alt, and I prefer this to a pilsner. Tastefull and crisp even though it is a bit sweeter.

(bottle) pours a clear amber-ruby colour with a frothy white head. aroma of cardboard and marzipan, with a very light hint of butter, grain and strawberries. flavour is mostly the same, heavily oxidized, with a hint of caramel, lots of grain and a medium-bitter finish. medium-bodied with average carbonation.
