A chestnut coloured beer with a reasonable tan head. The aroma is smoky with burnt toast and egg. The taste has brown bread, nuts and prunes. Interesting and not very welcoming but quite pleasant.

Nice red amber appearance, with a large white head, and fairly large bubbles. Smells very malty and sweet. First taste is sweet, then quickly turns to sour like lemon rind (or does this happen because of how the tongue senses tastes?), then gradually it changes to a frothy balanced smooth finish, with flavors of oak wood and raisens.

Bottle. Brown with a yellowed head. Aromas are light roast malts with pepper, metal and earthy hops . Flavours are nutty and roasted malts with metal and hints of lemon. Dry and woody on the finish with some bitter dark chocolate. A tasty Alt.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Rastacouere (5923) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 27, 2007
Dark amber alt topped by a big lasting beige head. A bit less interesting aroma than most Düsseldorf’s alts. Earthier, more mineral and less aptly toasty. No wooden undertones in this one. Still, a bright leafy bitterness shows up and, if weaker and less cutting than more confident example, it leaves its caramelly goodness take more room. Better than most generic bottled examples, but not quite up there.

tolles Aussehen, stabiler Schaum.

This looked like it came from a wooden cask. However iv noticed someplaces have a keg wrapped in wood. Aroma is lightly bready malts. Taste has bread maybe honey and not too much bittering hops, however a little bland from all fronts.
