Medium chestnut colored, thin head, lots of carbonation. Earthy malt and nutty aroma, like a cross between a dunkel and an English brown. Hazelnut and roasty malt flavors are quite distinctive, and intercepted by an adequate bitterness, touch of sourness. Light bodied, not as fizzy as expected, with a lingering finish. My first of the style, and I quite enjoyed it.

From the bottle, nose is typical altbier, more or less flat. Taste is sweetish, malty with muddy mouldy finish...

Less aroma, with small malt
Acute bitterness
Iron flavour in finish

Strong bitter finish makes this a good Alt.

On tap in a bar @ Dusseldorf. Yellowish brown color with a little white head. The aroma features a toasted malty mix of nuts, bread and a touch of dark fruitiness. Taste is medium in roastiness, malt-oriented with toasted bread, nuts and bisquit and a hint of fruitiness appearing near the finish. The palate is medium-bodied, though barely, with an average carbonation; drinkable yet full-bodied enough. Standard alt, flawless but unspectacular.

Tap@Düsseldorf. Pours clear brown with medium, quite lasting beige head. Toasty maltiness dominates both aroma and taste. Also slight nuttiness and even a vague taste of dark fruits. Transparent body, average carbonation. Finish a bit too dry and blunt for my taste.
