4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Six pack from my local Walgreens. Pour form a 12 oz bottle is cloudy almost golden amber, just a few shades darker. Three fingers of thick and frothy head that demonstrates great staying power. Aroma of resinous hops, a little pine, modest maltiness. Very prominent and distinctive hoppiness gives this brew a real WOW factor - hops is present throught the swallow. Hops a resinous, grassy, not much citrus or pine. Strikes me as a very European hops - gluey and bitter almost like the bite of a pilsener but greatly amped up Great mouthfeel, excellent palate. A distinctive, refined, well balanced brew that stands out among the legion of really fine modern IPAís out there. A world class brew.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Clear dark amber, with medium head and body. Strength is strong hoppy flavor and aftertaste. Hops are on herbal rather than fruit side.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: A slightly hazy yellow color with a nice creamy head that lasts forever. Starts with a huge head that goes down to about a finger. Lacing is fantastic. Really good looking.
Smell: Hard to explain. Itís definitely a burst of hops. The only way I can say it is "bright hops" in the aroma. Thereís something I canít put my finger on. It smells nice though. Flowers and spices, I suppose? Also a trace of the alcohol as well.
Taste/feel: Much like the smell. Hoppy, floral tastes with a dash of spice. I actually really like it. It has a sort of "off" taste I suppose that I canít pinpoint, but thereís definitely something about it that keeps it from being a stellar beer. I still like this one. The feel of it is very appropriate for an IPA -- medium, mildly carbonated.
I was sort of surprised. The reviews had me thinking this would be a very average beer ... but itís really not. Itís an above average IPA, with an interesting amount of floral character. Would very gladly have this one again. Nice job, Frankenmuth. More proof that Michigan beer is some of the best out there.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A pleasant mild citrus hoppy taste upfront with a hint of pine needles. The hops are definitely different than the overpowering in your face IPA. The pine taste actually builds after swallowing from an immediate zero to a mild flavor a minute later.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle from Sicilianoís Market in Grand Rapids, MI. Pours a lightly hazed, golden-copper colored body with a finger-width, dense and frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice, sticky lacing. Aroma is bit of a sharper citrus with some lemons giving off a slight tartness along with oranges and grapefruit rinds. A somewhat malty, medium-sweet caramel to balance with a hint of bread. Fairly piney with a light resin and some florals to the hops. Flavor is pretty piney. Well hopped and somewhat resiny up front with a good amount of lemons, grapefruits, and oranges. Lots of pines with some florals and a solid, light-moderate caramel sweetness to balance. Finishes dry and piney with a medium-high, resiny bitterness along with a good amount of citrus. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium, smooth body and a moderate, soft carbonation. Overall, a really solid IPA. Very well hopped with lots of citrusy pines, but pretty well balanced with a nice caramel maltiness. Highly enjoyable beer.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy golden coloured body with a thick, dense off-white head. Aroma of fresh citrus hops, a lot of yeast, ton of malt and a nice coriander seed freshness not usually picked up with this style. Medium-bodied; Assertive hoppy flavour at first with a pungent spicey and yeastie kick, then showing more of a wit flavour with a decent amount of hops. Aftertaste shows dryness and a touch hoppy character with a good malt backbone and some serious spicey and yeastie flavours coming through at the end. Overall, a nice and rather different IPA - slightly witty, but definitely still hoppy. A nice American IPA and definitely worth trying if you can find it. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchantís in Dearborn, Michigan on 28-April-2011 for US$1.79 sampled this American beer at home today, after visiting the Pentagon on the ten year anniversary of 9/11, two blocks south of the Pentagon on 11-September-2011. God Bless everyone affected and their families on this occasion.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Aroma has notes of citrus, pine, and floral hops and a little cereal malt. Yellow/amber hue with an average white head that left good lace. Flavor is medium sweet and bitter. Palate is medium bodied and watery soft. Overall a decent IPA with a very nice 6.9% abv. Nicely done Frankenmuth Brewery.
